I'm new to UK Bride so; Hi, I'm Kirstie. I'm getting married to the love of my life on 27th August 2011 and I am so excited :) We are getting married in our local registers office at 2pm as we aren't religious and didn't want to get married in a hotel. We plan to fly out to Ibiza a couple of days later, do it all again whilst we are over there and have a BIG party when we get home.
This is where I need your advice and tips!! We are happy with a registers office wedding (cheap as chips!!) but we also want a little something special. Hence, having a blessing in Ibiza which will cost around E500. I have recently found out that a celebrant who would conduct the blessing (what we would be paying the E500 for) is nobody special, i.e. anybody can do it, even me if I wanted to! So naturally, trying to be as thrifty as possible, why on earth would I want to spend E500 on that?! Especially given the current exchange rate, the GBP is almost breaking even with the Euro.
So girlies, do you have any ideas on how we can add a little something extra to our marital festivities? The reason why we were going to have the blessing in Ibiza as we wanted to get married abroad but most of my other half's family won't fly so it was a win-win situation.
Thanks x
