Help please! Can anyone recommend a hair stylist and makeup artist (either the same person or 2 seperate people), who are fairly reasonably priced and give me an idea of what you've paid?
There will be me plus 3 adult bridesmaids and 2 flower girls to do on the day!! I'm hoping I can afford to have all of us done!

not yet if i'm honest - but looking on a few websites i can't believe their prices. One of my friends told me where she had hers done, and it seemed fairly reasonable - i'll look back through messages and let you know who she went to and how much she paid! I'm going to my normal hairdresser tomorrow, so i'm going to ask her about it too! xx
OOh that would be fab, please do I love my usual hairdresser, but on the day I just want to relax at home and get ready, not having to make a mad dash to and from the salon! x

definitely wouldn't go to the salon, i'm going to see if they do come out to your home etc! Worth asking! I'm not going to go with her if she's too expensive, but worth asking i suppose!!! x

Lol no idea yet! Actually we can't book the registry office until 12 months before so that will be November this year. We live in East Dulwich so will be getting married at Southwark Registry Office. Reception venue still to be decided but will be something loe key and local, how about yourself? xx

i'm getting married and having reception at Selsdon Park Hotel in Croydon! East Dulwich - not far from where my Mum lives in Sydenham! Bromley Court hotel is lovely and VERY reasonable - have a look there maybe?! Where have you got in mind at the moment? x

Oooh Selsdon Park Hotel - lovely!! We are on SUCH a tight budget that we couldn't afford a reception venue like that. We're going to look at a couple of local pubs tomorrow, The Rosendale and The Cambria, both of which have function rooms and are reasonably priced xx

Yeah it's lovely! Fell in love with it as soon as we drove in!
There was a pub in Dulwich that i'm sure we had on a list - but i now can't think what it's called - had a really nice function room upstairs - i'll rack my brains and have a think!

Nothing formal really, we'd like a few joints of roast meat with accomapaniments, salads, jacket potatoes, quiches, breads and cheese - nice and simple but food we love xx

iluvcakes - we went to view The Cambria and it's gorgeous!!! The two people who run it are absolutely lovely too.
In regards to the make up/hair issue, I know the feeling! Everyone I've come across is just ridiculously priced. However, I've found a salon down the road who do special occasion make up and hair so thinking of asking them if they do weddings. They're based in Crystal Palace - once I've finally got round to contacting them, I'll let you know what their prices are if you'd like :-) x

Girls, a tip I've picked up is NEVER tell them its for a wedding. Tell them you've got an important function or something, be elusive- you could be meeting the queen for all they know- as soon as they hear wedding they bump prices through the roof. I'm so lucky I know someone who will do all of mine for free, she's based in Norwich though sorry ladies :(

They were absolutely lovely and happy to help, but unfortunately it wasn't big enough for us (well, we could have squeezed everyone in at a push, but everyone would've had to get rather cosy!). Such a shame as it would have been perfect for us, but we'd already cut our guest list at that point and we couldn't get it any lower! x

sorry for the delay!! I got 1 quote back from them - quoted £65 for hair for me, and £60 makeup for me - then £40 per bridesmaids hair and £40 makeup per bridesmaid!!! How about you? xx

it was Sophia Mason. Just spoken to Shellshocked, and they've given me a price of £395 total for me, plus 3 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls hair and makeup. There is a travel charge of about £20 she said as well if you want them to go to you! I'm so pleased as that comes just under what i budgeted! How about you? Have you heard from anyone yet?
