We are planning on having a buffet for our wedding, however I was thinking would it look stupid to have a well dressed tables with lining and then everyone will have paper plates. Should I hire proper plates if so what is the going rate for hiring around 120 plates.

Hiring plates is not so expensive but SOME will want you to clean them before returning them! Because of that we're having paper plates :-)

we going to have paper plates as we have to tidy up at venue before we lock up at night so easier! will be dumping them off at work to burn on bonfire instead of going in rubbish don't think we can recycle them. but are looking for ones that have been madr from recycled paper anyway

You can get biodegradable blates with a sunflower seed in the construction :-) You can also get some made of potato starch...
