I am nearly 29 and im still plagued by spots! It comes in phases. Sometimes my skin can be really clear and then when its not,its really bad. My skin has just flared up AGAIN with loads spots and im concerned about flare ups before my big day. What has anyone else tried? I drink plenty water,i havent been eating junk lately,i dont use many products on my face and still it flares up. :( I really want clear skin for my wedding! I had been thinking about asking my doctor for something but he will just prescribe benzyl peroxide which is quite harsh and my skin quite dry and also there is manaufacturing problem with this stuff so you cant get it anywhere! (I work in the pharmacy) I need advice.

Have you been to a salon and asked one of their beauticians? They might be the best bet x

I dont get that many spots and nevef have; i always use cleansing lotion, toner and moisturiser in the morning and cleanser and moisturiser at night. I also use a face mask about every 3 months. X
My h2b used to have really bad skin when I'm met him and he felt really anxious and self conscious all the time! After trying everything, the doctor sent him to a dermertalogist (think I spelt that wrong) and he went on a drug called roaccutane, which basically peeled the top layer of skin so a new layer could grow, sounds worse than it is but it's like a snake shredding its skin! The only side effects were sore lips, regular blood tests and pregnancy tests! they adivse you to Vaseline alot lol! My oh skin is now amazing he looks like he is glowing all the time and never has any spots, it's crazy how well it works! The course is usually 4-6 months I think? But you will never get spots again haha:-) x (my oh took these tablets In 2007)
When you go to the doctor make sure it's when your skin is at its worse lol x and just be a complete hypochondriac lol - tell him how much it's ruining your life bla bla bla. My oh is a real hypochondriac so whenever he goes doctor he gets whatever he wants lol :-) he has got better over the years to be fair hehe :-) x

Roaccutane is a serious drug for severe cystic acne. It has the potential for a lot of severe side affects: IBS, clinical depression, severe birth defects being the most notable.
I know a lot of women who have had luck with using birth control to help control acne, primarily ortho tricyclin (don't know what it's called in the UK. A consistent facial care regimen can help too, I like a famous brand's 3 step program.

That drug is only given in severe circumstances. There won't be enough time to try everything else and then that. :( my friend took it and it works brilliant. Just very hard to get!
Are you on the pill? If not, that helps to control spots. I was on it for two years & my skin was blemish free, came off it four months ago & I get the odd spot now. Apart from that, just your general cleansing, toning & moisturising every day should help. (: xx

I would speak to your doctor first, I use quiniderm which has helped with mine but the doctor will tell you if you need something stronger

I had awful skin until about 2 years ago when I finally realised I should stop putting up with it and spending hundreds of ££ on fancy products and just go to my doctor. It was a new doctor when I moved and she was like "why did you not come sooner?" She changed my contraceptive pill and put me on the antibiotic minocycline (i think that's how you spell it). WIthin a couple of months my spots faded! I took it for a year to make sure they were gone forever and i've never looked back!! My skin was just like yours, some times it'd be ok then other times it would be awful and I would end up crying endlessly about it!
Honestly, go to the doctor. Be firm, one of my friends got fobbed off with creams but tell them you've tried benzol peroxide and you arent happy that it works. My friend was warned off the antibiotics with talk of never being able to drink when she was on it and that it would make your contraceptive pill not work - my doctor said that was all nonsense- that for the first month you should watch out with your pill but after that your stomach gets used to absorbing both so it's fine.
Go for it, go to the docs. It was the best thing I ever did! xxx

What do you actually use to clean your face? Try a charcoal soap or scrub when you flare up they will help to get rid of them. Try putting sudocrem on your spots at night it works much better than toothpaste.
