I totally agree... there are far more pressing matters going on in the world. You only need to turn on the news or open a paper to blatantly see that. However, I feel that how someone pays for their wedding is theirs and only their concern. What this story highlights is that their is discrimination at every point we turn in the world, either becuase of our culture, skin colour, religion, moral beliefs, gender, sex and place of work? This is not somethong new and I for one certainly see no wrong in highlighting those who discriminate against others in the hope that it can be stopped. And it would never even cross my mind to ponder over how much money they may or may not receive for their story. Someone on here made a very good point of todays news being tomorrows chip papers. The thing is.... We all have somrthing in common on here, we are all trying to organise and plan our special day wether we are having a big affair, a small affair, a £2000 budget or a £25000 budget. This is our common ground and people empathise with others when something goes wrong.

It's ok highlighting it MairiN30 - but it can go overboard. I know some of it is down to the press, but it's not like they'd paid out money to this venue then lost it because of the email. Yes, this is going on all the time, but it's just unfortunate that on this occasion the wedding planner c**ked up and sent the email to the wrong person.

Like I said before - they've still got their health and careers, as well as their families and friends so they need to get over it and move on. I think the '15 minutes of fame' saying comes to mind here...

I quite agree mym72... It is now done and dusted, although I am sure that this venue is not the only venue that picks and chooses its clientele. My point is that regardless of how it came about (in this case, a very silly woman who has made a mistake which I am sure she has been reprimanded for by her boss!) that a forum like this is for sharing, caring, disagreeing etc and we all can make our points. I just sometimes think that certain aspects can become quite personally targetting.
