I set my heart on a venue recently & all planning was going well, until I received this by mistake. The lady in question realised her mistake & tried to recall the message but it was too late.
I'm actually really hurt by what has been said here, I'm sure this kind of thing happens, but to be made aware of it in this way has really put a downer on everything. My partner & I have no had to go & tell our families why we can't marry at this venue, I'm gutted!
Has this ever happened to anyone & what did you do?

Hi, all I can say is OMG!!!! I cannot believe this venue have said this! I would tell them they can shove their venue you and your money are too good for them, then take it to the press!!! OMG that is terrible! have you informed the venue you have got this? I would be going straight there and demanding an apology and any money back you may have paid! This also happened to another bride on here cant remeber her name but if you look back over the the last 3 pages youl find it, i think her thread was called: "cant believe the venue has done this" or something like that

OMG this is aweful!! What does she mean by the "not the type of people that we would want to have at ***** park"? Who is she to say who can and cant pay for their services!!!!! If i was you hun i would see this a a lucky escape, imagine you had recieved this after you had booked and paid for this venue. I would also send back and a very strongly worded email and write up a negative review about the venue on the web.
Hopefully your venue is out their and you will find it and it will be even better than this shocking venue. xx

Lows, thanks for suggesting writing bad reviews, I never thought of that, I'm still a bit rumbled by it all.
Michele (I've deleted her surname obviously) was the wedding coordinator, apparently she's a snob lol!
They were charging a silly amount of money & we didn't say at any point they were expensive, even when they told us the ground fee for a firework display would by £1000, with the fireworks on top! My first thought is we must be really bad for them not to want our money, but I'm over that now, just angry xx

I'm so angry for you as I know how I'd feel if it had happened to me! As far as I'm concerned, if people want to have a wedding somewhere and can afford it, that's all that should matter surely?
How much were their packages just out of interest? I ask because they're a golf club so you'd have strangers milling around your wedding venue. Mine is exclusive use of the house and grounds. xx

You should take this to the top management and wipe the floor with the underling that has made these judgements about you. You could get a very big discount by taking this to the top, I know you just feel you dont want to have your reception at this venue but that is just the opinion of one unprofessional woman. It does'nt mean the rest of the staff feel the same as her and she may be relieved of her position if you take this higher. I would speak to who ever is in charge show them the email and see what response you get if its not what you want to hear then go public but at least give them a chance to put this right first you could save yourselves a fortune and have a lovely reception at their expense.

It's was £265 pp. I know it's a lot but we weren't having a huge wedding party.

Thing is the email implies that the whole venue do this 'picking & choosing' because she is asking the advice of the management. If it was just her opinion I don't think she would be asking the managements advice. I may be being harsh & still seeing red a little but that's how I feel xx

They certainly don't deserve your money, not even if they heavily discount it now. It will always be at the back of your mind.
I suggest shopping around at other venues.
Plugging mine to you .............they're brill, know how to treat their customers and good value. If you want somewhere on par with S Park, try The G***e, H2B and I went for lunch there after we'd visited our venue to meet photographers, it's nice there, rather posh, 7 wedding function rooms ............you might like it.

That is disgusting and im shocked... well done for going to the top dog but i wouldnt want my wedding recpetion there now if they paid me. You would think they would want money and people in their venue for future business....
My brother and his now wife went to view a manor house near us and they had a good budget, walked in the women looked them up and down (they are both 23) and said 'before i waste my time with you both, the minimum package is £12,000, can you afford this?' My brother was not impressed so his reply was 'thats under our budget so quite comfortable to continue but unsure if it will meet your high standards yet?' the house was stunning and they could afford it but on the grounds on the snobby, rude woman they didn't book but made her show them around twice....

I would definitely be making that public. These venues need to realise that they can't treat they're potential customers like this. Your wedding would have been paying that snotty cows wages so she has no right to judge. Who the hell is she to decide that you are not the right sort for that venue. Unless you turned up looking like Waynetta Slob and left with a bag full of nick nacks that you lifted during the tour then she might have some right to judge. Personally, I'd be concerned with her organisational skills if she can't even manage to send an email to the correct recipient.
Get it in the papers and warn other brides that your character and "background" will be judged during the tour.
