It depends where you go. My shop is charging me £25 per bridesmaid, £3.00 per button hole and around £60 for mine. Most will want you to go in shop for a free consultation meeting with them first

i have been to a few florists (foned first) and all of em said to come back when i know wot i want and how much i want to spend!! which is really no help as im cluless about flowers, i dont know what flowers will look good, or wot comes in wot colours - and none of em will give me a pricelist coz they say it depends on wot flowers i want as to how much they will cost! this is the 1st thing ive started to geta lil stressed over! lol

Have a look on the wedding magazine websites in the flowers sections; often they have them divided by colours. Also google wedding flowers and the month you're getting married and it'll help you see what's in season (and therefore more reasonably priced). I'm in a similar situation with the budget side in that unil we've sorted the marquee, catering and booze etc I don know how much we'll have left! We get married next sept so after chritmas I'm hopefully gonna go see some florists for help. One way of looking at it' is you'll probably need: bouquet for you, bouquets for bridesmaids, button holes for fob, fog, ushers, groom, best man, flowers for church, table centres times however many tables you're having (usually no. guests divided by 10!). Hope that helps! Xxx
Try flickr babe jsut google it they have LOADS of pics of different bouquets that use alsorts of flowers. I knew i want roses but that was about it, so i looked on there and got loads of ideas. Do you have me on fb?? If so look on my page i put a few ideas i like on there yesterday. if you dont let me know and ill pm you.

but i need summin for the church? wot flowers do u have in a church? and summin for the top table.
CommentAuthorRachie :D
Depends on your florist and location and what flowers you want. Remember flowers are seasonal and are alot more expensive to get out of season although not impossible.
I would budget at least £150 for yours, £60 for bm's, £15 for ladies corsages, £7 for button holes, and around £20 - £50 for table centres. If you want long and low for the top table approx £50 - £100 and for pedestals around £50 - £100 again. If your getting the mums a flower arrangement as a prezzie you need again to budget £20 - £50 a piece.
Don't go for the cheapest florist either go for one you feel comfortable with and trust. I get all my flowers from one company and as I've put alot of business their way trust they'll do a good job for me.
Good luck hun - of and if you google Wedding bouquets there's loads of images, if you can't tell then google that with your colour scheme xxxxxx

at the risk of sounding like an idiot - wtf is a corsage? and wots a pedestal? oo gettin so comfused! lol
CommentAuthorx~Hails~x
hehehehe a corsge is what you would give the mums babe and they can wear them either on their jacket with a little pin or on their wrists. And a pedestal is basically a stand with flowers on top which is what most people have in church hehehe

At my wedding I had a display of flowers on a pedestal frame just outside the front door of the church and also had a display with a candle in it inside the church near where myself and my hubby were standing to say our vows. Most florists will have albums of ideas for displays for the church or ceremony venue to choose from as there are different dispalys to pick from. We arranged for our florist to take the display outside the church to our evening venue so that we had a display just inside the function room for later in the day.
As for corsages ifs really up to yourself whether you want to buy your stepmum one. xx

Don't worry the florist will know the best place to put the church flowers. It all depends on the set up of the church where they will be best placed. It might be and idea to ask the church florist to do the church flowers for you and sometimes if there is another bride getting married on the same day then you can share the costs between you. Also you don't have to spend a fortune on church flowers as you are only in there for about 40 mins! You can use pull bows to hang off the end pews to jazz things up without breaking the bank. It would be better to spend your money on a display of flowers that you can move from the church up to the venue and re use them.
Also your bouquet and bridesmaids flowers can also be doubled up as flower displays for the tables so work out what you can re use on the day to save yourself some pennies. Use greenery as much as you can and then team it with some key fresh flowers as this is cheaper but gives you the feel of lots of flowers.

HI loola_hoop,
Im a florist and see alot of brides .It seems that the florist that you seen are pretty useless (sorry to say that) They should at leased give you a price list or preliminary estimate so you get rough idea what cost will be and you can compare with diffrent florist. I work with alot of brides that dont know what they want. I try to get idea of what your looking for so you have a start . so you cansent a preliminary estimate so have idea what you charge and i have lots of brides coming back and change things.
Best thing to start is go on google ,buy flower magazines and pull or print anything out what you like and put in a file . put away for few weeks and come back to it. slowly you get idea what you like and dont like. As you have 5 bridesmaids you might want to think about a very simple bouquet for them so your keeping your cost down. (ideas: few Gerbra(look like daisies) ,few big roses. suggestions keep it simple. what kind of style do you want Hand-tied or hower bouquet or over the arm there is alot of different styles. pick flowers that are in season .
very rough pricing that you can expect really depends on florist : brides bouquet hand-tie from 50 pounds upwards Showerbouquet from75 pounds and upwards Over the arm bouquet from 25 pounds upwards. bridesmaids from very simple 20 pounds upwards buttonholes from 3pounds upwards corsages from 7.50 pounds and upwards pew-ends from 5 pounds upwards pedestal from 75 pounds upwards altar arrangement from 50 pounds upwards( you can re-use this for your toptable) table arrangement from 15 pounds upwards(as your have your own vases)
tip you can re-use your bouquet and the bridesmaids for your table decorations.
if you have any questions your more then welcome to ask me :)

Fieks with you being a florist are you doing your flowers yourself or getting someone else to do them for you? I would have thought doing them yourself would be a nightmare to get them done and set up in time but at the same time would you trust another florist to get them right with you being in the trade?
CommentAuthorSuzie Bear
My church have told me to let them know my colour scheme and I can go with them to the flower market to choose the flowers I want. If they come to above the usual flower budget for church then I only have to pay the difference which I thought was fair enough! x
is Mrs Suzie Bear!!!!

CommentAuthorloola_hoop
aww thanx fieks, wot flowers would you suggest? cream, choc, and touch of gold? i know roses are an obvious choice, but any other flowers tha wud look good with my colours? ive looked through so many pic and none of em really screan out to me. xXx
CommentAuthorXLittleMissMe!X
There was a bride the other week that used cream and choc wooden roses and they looked really good. You could use some of them tied with gold ribbon and then you wouldn't have to worry about them dying. If you google brown wedding flowers you can go to the images and there are loads of ideas for you. You can then right click and save the images ready for showing the florist what you have in mind.

Ps to add some gold into my flowes I used gold ribbon and gold butterflies on them.

most wedding mags and things say 10% of your budget but you have a large budget so thats alot to spend . i have spent £350 on my wedding flowers and my budget is £5000. the prices are higher close to xmas thats why mine are a little high. i have my bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 6 button holes 2 mothers coursages, 2 thank you flowers and a top table arrangement. hope that helps xx
