    Wow that's slightly outrageous.
I'm hoping to get my sisters 2 friends to do mine.
They did all my grandads flowers for £200, that would have cost £500 in the shops.

I used fake flowers, I got silk calla lilies from the bay, along with all the added bits of grass and ribbons etc I paid just over £25 for the lot. I did attempt to do them myself, I am not very arty though, so a friend who done her own done mine as well and they were lovely. Then everyone got to keep them after.

To be honest I actually think thats a blinking good price!
These days fake flowers look so real you can hardly tell that they are fakes and the same amount of work goes into them if not more so they can come in at the same price as real flowers if not more depending on what you want ie flower brochs etc
We have gone for fake simply because we both have hay fever but I would love to have had real if I could!
My flowers alone cost £155 The bridesmaids are £35 and the flower girls is £30
Then on top of that I have the centre pieces which have broachs in at £25 a table
    ALL flowers are roses
Theirs a well known saying in the wedding industry that goes "you get what you pay for" and this includes flowers!
By all means try and save by getting as many qoutes as you can but look at quality rather then price when deciding who to use
and if you do decide to make your own go to a really good wholesaler and you should be fine.
Either way good luck and we want to see pictures if you do DIY ;-)

Its got to be real flowers for me, I wanted our venue full of beautiful and fresh White roses. There are some really inovitive things you can do with your bouquet to preserve them now too!!

I think thats quite costly for fake or real. I am having real, I've got my bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet, flowergirl wand with flowers on, 6 botton holes, 3 corsages, 1 large pedestal for the church, 4 table centres in tall martini glasses, a large top table spread and 2 arrangements to hang on the end of the stairs plus fabric draping for the stairs and its only come to £505. Have you been to anyone else to get other quotes? Mine varied massively, one woman wanted £890 which didn't include pedestal of stair ends and she wouldn't deliver them!

I'm going with fake. I have found some beautiful bouquets and buttonholes on eBay for a fraction of the price of real flowers, one shop in my home town quotes £90 for my bouquet alone! Also I don't have to worry about them perishing, be in season and I can keep my bouquet and the girls can keep theirs. I still have my bouquet from when I was MOH.

The more I read the more I think I got a bargain! Mine are artificial, mine, 2 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, 4 corsages and 6 button holes for £80. The church have said I need real flowers for their 2 vases but I'll arrange those myself from the local market the day before x

Ive gone fake. The lady I have is lovely and you cant tell the difference. Even when we went for the meeting and they were in the house u had to touch them to believe they werent real. U can get cheap ones on the bay or book of face, but I agree with hails-you get what you pay for. Ours are costing around the 200 mark for mine, 4 bridesmaids, 2 fg baskets, 2 mums corsages and 5 buttonholes. If you want her details let me know. Shes bristol based but will deliver etc.. x

Regardless of if you have fake or real, why not have a go at making your own? You can either go to a local flower market for fresh flowers (some also stock fake) and order off the bay for foam/silk. There are loads of tutorials online and think of the money you will save! x
