I was thinking of getting artificial flowers for my wedding but my bridesmaid wasnt so keen. Can anyone give me an idea of pros and cons for artificial flowers? Would it be worth getting?!
I know it would save money and would last all day but fresh flowers would be nice

ive made my own artificial bouquet for £15, see in photo album on wedding stuff, tell me what u fink. id go with artificial cos they live forever and its not feeling like you are essentialy throwing money in the bin when they die. its upp to you if you have them not your bridesmaids tho. x x

I got foam roses as I wanted to keep mine and you can't tell that they are fake unless you start getting really close to them and start prodding them. I would say that it is up to you to decide what you are happy with not the BM.

Im having artificial or wooden flowers. I suffer from hayfever and dont fancu having itchy eyes on my wedding day. I know that most people would think ehh thats so cheap, but i have seen some really beautiful silk flower arrangements, that you wouldnt even know they werent real. Also since being on here was made aware that there are such thing as foam flowers. Im not using this coice but have steer towards having wooden roses because they come in very vibrant colours.

in my opinion, I prefer fresh and I think guests will appreciate it more though if on a budget then artificial is a very good option and increasingly popular and you get to keep the displays when done my bouquet will die by the next morning

Im having artificial, much cheaper and there are some fantastic companies who make them so well they almost look like the real thing! Plus it means you can have whatever flowers you want even if they are out of season, and if you want something really unusual, most companies will make you up whatever you want at a fraction of the cost xx

My friend had fresh flowers at her wedding i found them not very practical im not sure whether it was the florist who didnt do them properly but the roses/flowers heads were easily falling off. Also i found it a shame you couldn't keep them for long considering how much they cost xxxx

as they cant be part of my day, i thought it would be nice x

In going for silk flowers as I just want to keep them afterward and I don't want to stress on the day if it snows and the florist cant get through!, plus I can have feathers around the bottoms to tie in with my theme, my sister had real flowers at her wedding in the summer and they were gorgeous in look and smell but they cost her nearly £2000 and even in the church her huge roses bouquet was losing petals, I just feel that its loads to spend for something that dies but I can see the appeal if you have the funds :)
