Hey girls I only intended on having one flower girl and one page boy (my neice and nephew) anyway after huge arguments I agreed to have H2B neice. She is 11 and I picked the dresses and stuff which was fine. I was out shopping with my sister the other day and seen gorgeous little shrugs for them incase its bit cold. They are ivory with little diamonte button I took them home and showed H2B sister who said she is to old for that just take it back she does not need a shrug! Im raging and I bet she is freezing on the day and it will ruin it for her to! I am not buying a different one for her as it defo was not to young for her she is still a kid for goodness sake she is only 11 but her mum treats her more like a grown up. xx

i hav little boleros 4 my 2 flowegirls one will be 11 and one will b 3. they both the same and definately not too young for my oldest. i got them cos my oldests dress has shoestring straps and i wanted her shoulders covered a bit more so i think im the opposite to ur hubbys sister. i think kids need to be kids and not treated like mini adults. tel her its ur weddin so its ur way xx

i would tell the mum she either wears it or the daughter doesnt be a flower girl. it may sound harsh but you have a point about the cold thing, at least that way you wont get blamed for inapropriate outfits if she does get chilly. stick to your guns hun xxxx

Wow.. i would just say to her that its your wedding day and you choose what happens etc. if you want your niece wearing the shrug for good reasons then i would tell her.. Take control and dont let anyone spoil it for you =]

OMG thats shocking can't believe she told you to take it back thats awful!! I'm going to get wee bolero cardigans for my 2 flowergirls just incase they get cold I would just say to her you don't want the girls to freeze and thats why you have them and she doesn't need to wear it the full day xx

I have spoken to my sister who is my BM and her daughter is my youngest flowergirl she said to me what is the point in keeping it I would just be wasting money. H2B sis is a bit akward she asked me 1st where i got it I said Matalan she said Oh no that is to young for her!!! She likes to shop in Frasers and that is it (well so would we all if we had the money I felt like saying) Think the shrug will be going back for the older flowergirl but will keep it for my wee neice its so cute on her xx

I know exactly how you feel hun, i was only going to have my kids as flowergirls and page boy but my h2b's neice threw a right fit and she's 12!! Her mum didn't help either! I eventually gave in and bought her a dress exacly the same as the other girls and she said it's too kiddie for her!!! Cheeky little madam, i've told her she either wears that or isn't a flower girl! Harsh i know but at the end of the day it's my wedding! Likewise it's your wedding and you should have everything the way you want it, hope all works out for you hun xx

Loopylou why do people feel they can have a say in what we want!!! I would never ask someone to wear anything hideous or that did not suit them. We have spent a fortune on her daugter and she has not offered one penny (not that I would take it) but she just assumes we buy everything where as my sister is the exact opposite would do anything and everything to help me and has went with everything I like (I guess we have similar tastes.) When we got asked if H2B neice could be a flowergirl it was infront of the whole family I was put in a total situation so I said we had not decided as yet but again a hissy fit was to be had from her. xx

Exactly The shrugs you got sound lovely! It's the same here my Hb2 sister is a nightmare, she's annoyed she's not a bridesmaid but you got to draw the line somewhere lol. I can just imagine how you felt being asked infront of the whole family, what a dilema. Must be their age!! xx

Let her freeze I say lol I just think people poking their nose in is a right cheek, but they always seem to think it's their right for some strange reason!! I didn't even ask my h2b's neice to be bridesmaid it was an unwritten rule!! to be honest I think I'm going to be ripping my hair out nearer the time with her outfit too as she's a right spoiled madam and has already told me her dress better be pink!! :0 Tough tits! My dress is pink so she'll be wearing ivory with pink sash ... I just know it's going to cause trouble! I feel your pain x
