Its chucking it down outside! And its windy! This is not normall for May. Now my wedding isnt until end of June, and im hoping its dry.
Im really worried though what to do if it rains?
Has anyone got married when it rained? Is anyone else worried it will rain?
As im spending loads to have a nice photographer which will be wasted if it rains as there is no where to take photos inside apart from on a staircase and thats it! And my hair will go all frizzy if its wet! I really am worried about this!
I know im going to be happy as im getting married but i feel like the day will be ruined if its wet.

im pretty much guaranteed to have a wet wedding being the 1st of november so im embracing it! will get umbrellas that go with my colour scheme with special bride and groom ones for us, wellies for bridesmaids and a pair of weddingtons for me! chatted to photographer about photos and he says he can do wonders with rain so little ones are having white rain macs over there dresses and wellies and they are going to splash in the puddles and he will take pics! get everyone with umbrellas to stand together to create a kind of canopy for some outside photos , i am lucky that the hotel is beautiful inside and out and has some stunning panoramic views of the sea so will take lots inside too but i think the key is too go with it!! now ive planned for it though i bet its sunny lol but this way i know whatever the weather my day will be special!
One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!

Yes I am starting to worry that it will be cold and wet :( I can see me having a big coat on over my dress in all my pics - I just don't do cold at all :'(

i can do cold.....i cant do wet or windy! ive been looking for ideas on internet and everyone seems to just say "Go out in the rain, have fun". How can you have fun when your hair is a mess, your dress is getting ruined and you have to then spend rest of evening looking a mess. I know its sounds vein, but i just want some nice photos. And im worried that all my guests will not like waiting outside while the venue is being sorted for reception.

I got married in August and it rained lol.!!! Our venue had indoor rooms where we could have pics taken though - and as it was at the Blacksmiths at Gretna, we could take pics there as well. They did have a wooden gazebo that fitted our whole wedding party in outside - so we got some pics between showers. They even lent us umbrellas as well as we'd travelled all the way from Leeds and forgotten ours lol.
i guess thats not so much of a worry to me as i have a second shorter wedding dress for my evening reception as i want to dance lol! my hair is going to be done before the evening do aswell (simple waterfall plait so the lady said she was happy to re-do it for free). Unfortunately theres not many solutions if you dont want inside and wont go outside :/ maybe you could put a gazebo up?? and have pics taken under it?
One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!

I could take photos under all the wooden balconies that run round the whole of the venue. but i really wanted to get photos out of the green by the lakes. :-(
*fingers crossed its sunny*

Our ceremony is planned to be outside, the alter will be on a little island in the pond with the guests sitting on the waters edge and we're building a little bridge to the island for the aisle...I am terrified that it will rain, our date is 24th May 2014, my fingers are crossed but i'll definitely have a plan B tho I will be absolutely gutted if I can't have it at the pond :( I'm putting up white gazebo/marquee things for the guest that has removable sides so hopefully if it rains a touch it';ll be okay but if it's weather like recently im screwed! Tho today has actually been really sunny here. You just never can tell.xxx

It's one of those things you cannot guarantee. My friend got married almost 2 years ago in the middle of June as she said it is normally good weather then and it was horrendous. There were some nice spells but it was blowing a gale and kept having huge big showers. I'm finding now that September/October seem to be the best months now for weather.
I was slightly worried about the rain on my day as the day before it was horrid and it was meant to rain all night, but fortunately it cleared up at lunchtime and was beaut. I was hoping for nice weather as then people could enjoy the grounds between the end of the ceremony and the start of the reception. If they were stuck indoors it would have been slightly crowded.

I am getting married 1st of June, I have 6 clear dome umbrellas and some lovely cream ones as well. You can't predict the weather so just make sure your covered for it (umbrellas, wellies, some kind of cover up if its cold), no sense in worrying about things that you cannot change.

my friend got married last weekend and she had some rain so she had an umbrella that was rainbow and went with her theme
she also has a clear umbrella with battery fairy lights inside it for pictures. she also borrowed my ivory heart shaped umbrella as well.
a good photographer can come up with good shots even in bad weather

We picked a venue where good weather isn't necessary; pretty much everything, including most of our photos, will be inside. We just didn't want to be reliant on the weather because it's so unreliable.
The only issue rain will cause is getting to and from the ceremony venue; it's a 2 minute walk from our reception venue, where we're also getting ready, so the plan is to walk it. But if it's wet or very windy we'll need to call a cab. No big deal though TBF.

My sister in law got married and it was sleet!!! but the best picture was taken with her kissing her husband with specles of rain/snow in her hair. Can any of your bridesmaids not be on stand by to re-do your hair if it does go a bit frizzy?
Everything will be ok!! In the words of Alanis Morrisette- " Its like raaaaiiiiinnn, on your wedding day"- Ironic, so good luck!! (if you believe in all that!! :0)

It is possible that it could rain, however that's not to say the whole day will be ruined, if there's sunny spells, use those opportunites to nip out and get some photos, otherwise I like what the others have suggested with the umbrellas to match colour scheme and weddingtons, you can still get some nice photos and your hair wouldn't necessarily get messed up under and umbrella xxx

There is no point in worrying (easier said than done I know!) make sure you have a pretty umbrella that you can hold in pics to keep your hair dry and frizz free, guest will all bring their own umbrellas if it's bad weather. If you have hired a decent photographer then they will still be able to create beautiful photographs even if the weather decides to mess you about xx

My biggest worry with rain is the photographs, but as long as the photographer has the right equipment & you have a smile on your face everything will be alright x
