    Hey ladies

I'd love some suggestions if unusual wedding favours, I want to avoid the usual love heart sweets, or anything too tacky. Also something not too expensive.

Do any of you know any unusual websites or suppliers?

    Thanks xxx

I'll bump the favours thread for you as it has a lot of ideas on there.
I think hand made favours are really nice & very different. Homemade Heart shaped biscuits, jams or jelly, soap, candles - I wouldn't mind getting one those as a favour.

I'm doing simple and cheap but romantic a card with a unity love knot bracelet attached and a poem on the card, the bracelet is made of rustic twine and its more for a sentiment then than to be worn, cheap to do just requires time.

You could stick little crystals in the boxes HappyBunny?
Or a little shell if you live near the beach.
Hair clips for little girls, toy car for little boys perhaps?
Little candles for adults, @sd@ have started doing the Y@nkee c@ndles, beautifully smelling for a £1 :) And you can get the colours that match your theme :)

Ha ha that is a great idea Gemma. Homemade things are definitely unique and different though they require time.

For my kids favours I'm thinking of making sponge cakes which sit in an ice cream cone and it looks like an ice cream when it's done.

Mine are getting a trio of jars...

In one is our own home "grown" honey from the hives in the garden (thank you bees!) and then as I'm from Yorkhsire and love making jam, cooking etc, I'm making rhubarb and ginger jam. In the third jar, we're going to put the traditional 5 sugared almonds in a jar to honour the italian side of my family and be a bit traditional. The label on the trio is going to serve as their name place but also a tag that they can write on to hang on our manzanita tree that will be in the bar acting as our guest book.
