It may sound silly but it might just be worth asking the venue if they have a generator. A girl who I work with went to her cousins wedding the other week and the whole town's electric wend down. The venue was a very posh place and everything in it was run by electric. The toilets, the sinks, everything. No one could flush or wash there hands. They couldn't buy a drink unless they had bang on the right money as the tills could not be opened and the DJ could not set up for the evening do. You may not think you would need it but if that happened at my wedding I would be devastated!!!!
CommentAuthorBobsi
id never thought about that happening. I would be devastated aswel. x

I'd add ask about minimum/maximum numbers
Do they have a cd player or iPod dock that you can play your own music from?
Do they have a cake stand and cake knife?
Is there somewhere you and your bridal party can use to touch up after arriving but before the ceromony?
The bride needs to have a chat with the reg before the ceromony - where can this take place? How will they make sure other guests won't see the bride before the ceromony?
Do they have parking?
Are you allowed a band or entertainment?
Are there room hire charges?
Xx

CommentAuthorLauraJo87
That's a great list.
Its unlikely they will have there own registrar, the registrars are entirely seperate and need to be booked separately in most cases. They will give you a pack when you give notice that has the choices for ceromony wording and vows, readings and music need to be approved first, also can't be anything religious or just a copy of the church vows, more at least that's how they do it in our district.
However, they will no doubt know if the registrars will do a rehearsal (some don't).
I'd ask about things like disabled toilets and access if you have elderly or infirm guests. Also the opening times of the bar.
Hope you have an amazing time looking around your prospective venues! Xx

CommentAuthorButton-Bell
i went today and he said they have a registrar they normally work with but that we dont have to use him but he said he would be well suited to the alternative wedding i am looking for but i met a man today who works for a charity and is licenced to perform weddings so i have a back up plan the manager said he would pass on my questions to the registrar for me he was so lovely :)

Also I'd say to ask if VAT is included or is on top? My cousin paid just shy of £10k for her venue e.t.c and after the wedding; they had to pay a £1000 in VAT which they thought was included :S
