After seeing our last few venues we are settled on our favourite. We are going to go back either tomorrow or next Wednesday to have another look around and ask the last few questions but I’m not really sure what those questions are…
I have: Where are the arrival drinks? (breakfast and reception rooms are obvious but I am not sure on where this would be) Can we see the Crown Suite? (its mentioned in the brochure but we didn’t see it last time. It’s on the first floor so doubt we would want to use it but nice to see all available rooms) When will the work on the courtyard be done? (this is accessed from our reception room so will impact our day if not finished before then) Can you send me the details of the DJ? (website etc. so we can check he’s good!!) Price of hotel for guests and what’s the difference between standard price?
I want to ask the following but think it’s too soon for these with 2yrs 8 months until the day. Who sets up the room. If us when do we have access – preferably day before Will you move our table decorations between the 2 rooms. Where will guests be when this happens? Timings of the day (we have booked church for 2 but this is flexible at the moment! Plus I’m worried that I’m not seeing OH for most of our wedding day…)
Can you think of anything else to ask? Should I move my later on questions to now?

It's never to early to ask anything and even if you forget the answer you can always ask again nearer the time, I'm sure they won't mind! I think you have pretty much covered everything, unless you want to ask about deposit and when payment is due etc? x

The earlier you ask questions, then if you decide you need answers on something else you have time to ask them still.

I would definitely ask your 'for later' questions now.. like Emma said, it's never too early to ask anything and I'm sure they will be only too happy to answer your questions :) I asked our wedding coordinator for rough timings of the day very early on as wanted to know for booking other suppliers like the DJ, harpist and magician x
You could also ask about guests, how many you can have for breakfast and evening etc, if you don't already know x

If anything like our venue they answered a lot of the questions you are wanting to ask without prompting.

We've only been there once for a show around and haven't told them it's our number 1 yet. The coordinator is amazing though. Really helpful :)

Defintely ask about the money side of things, how much do they want and when by kind of thing. Maybe about childrens meals if necessary? There is a thread on venue questions somewhere, ill see if I can find it for you x

Aren't children normally the same price and just a smaller meal though?
So glad I posted this :)

Ive seen some people whos childrens meals are free under 5 whereas mine are like chicken nuggets etc and about £8 I think. It varies so worth asking x

I'd hope children's meals are cheaper than adults! To be honest I haven't even asked that question of my own venue lol x

Ooo thank you. Our quote is for just adult prices then so need to go equipped with numbers and ages of children! (Remember to add 2 yrs!)

I wouldnt be happy about paying £45 for a kids meal either mind haha. We did have the option of having the same food as adults for cheaper but decided nuggets would be better and more likely to be eaten lol.
Yeah thats a good point Emily, I'd forget that lol! x
