    Ola amigos.

Been sometime. Our move didn't go to plan as OH found work locally. So Wedding back on for sooner rather than later.

But before we set it all back up, we sat down and decided we'd like to get married in our local Church, as our daughter was Christened there and we found it beautiful. We got to baby group there and have made some friends and would like it to become our little place for the future, i.e. get any children the future has planned for us Christened there, and maybe they might even get married there.

But i have no idea where to start. Now obviously at some point i've got to go ask the Reverend, but where does it go from there? Also is it donation run like Christening or is there a set fee? Any details would be great basically. Any reasons she'd say no?

Me & my OH moved down here 2 years ago, so we wasn't Christened there ourselves, will that affect anything?

    TIA. x

Is it CoE? I've popped a link on your profile of their wedding website which will answer all your questions for CoE weddings.

If you are in the parish then you should be ok. As long as you live in the catchment area (like with schools), then you'll be good to go. I suggest that you go to church service on Sunday and make contact but if you can't, ring up the vicar and speak to him/her :) xx

To qualify you either need to live in the parish for six months or worship there for six months. You also qualify if a parent has worshipped there or lived in the parish in your lifetime, or if your parents were married there. As long as you fit one of those criteria they have to say yes. Speak to the vicar to organise it.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I've lived here for 2 years and attends groups there.
And my Daughter was Christened there.

But no other family connections as my family only moved down 5 years ago, and my OH's family still all live in Solihull.

So i should be good :)

Once i talk to her, what happens? Kind of questions will she ask, forms to fill out ect?

We're marrying at H2B's church, so there haven't been any questions as yet because the vicar knows us. We just had to agree the date. They'll possibly need you to prove that you live in the parish. They have to be satisfied that it's all legal as well, as there's no registrar involved, but unless they've got reason to have suspicion it's not an issue I don't think. H2B's vicar has had one or two cases of an African man wanting to marry an Eastern European girl when neither spoke much English or had any other language in common, and it was just to get permission to stay. Nearer the time you'll go through the order of service and make sure you understand the vows that you're making, and arrange for the banns to be rad.
