Me and h2b have been having a rough time, lots of arguments and taking each other for granted. we have decided to give it one more chance, spend quality time etc. he has just informed me that we will be going camping with his friend and girlfriend tomorrow for the weekend. in separate tents to them obviously. im not the camping type and he knows that, i need my hair straighteners for my fringe or i look awful but feel like im going to be seen as a moody old F A R T as i wont enjoy myself. so any tips for our "quality time?". did i mention we dont even have sleeping bags so guess im going shopping tomorrow for camp stuff.

    Lmao what are men like?

Quality time can be anything from cooking dinner together to having a meal out. The list is endless its all about spending time with each other and enjoying the company. I wouldn't say that it will be quality time if there are going to be other people there. Maybe you could say to him that you think its lovely that he is thinking about you and needing time together however you feel that it isn't going to be quality time together if other people are going to be with you. You might find though that if you can live without your hair straighteners for one day that he will show you lots of respect for giving it a go even though he knows you are hating it.

I'm a festival chick so well used to living in a tent for a weekend!!

get a hat. A cute straw hat. Dry shampoo is your friend. My fringe sticks up too until i get the dry shampoo on it. Batiste is the usual one, but Tresemme have just brought out two new ones.

get blow up beds. They are heavy, but oh my goodness they are worth it! nothing worse than not getting a good nights sleep and waking up in the morning feeling like kak.

    take a pilllow

get some Magicool if the weather is gonna be hot. It will cool your tent down.

wipes!! i usually have baby wipes, hygenic hand wipes, face wipes, toilet wipes and refresh wipes. They will be your friend!!

if all else fails, get drunk. And if you are not going to an actual campsite bring a bucket in pee in!!

I love camping.... When I go though I take a double blow up bed... and throw the duvet in the back of the car... Home from home...

Make sure you have a decent little cooker thing so you can have bacon buttys in the morning...

It can be fun trying to get some "alone" time in a tent... Sound carries.... so you have to be as quiet as you can... hehehe

i hate camping but if you are trying to have quality time together and this is what he thinks will help then would it be that bad to try it? maybe after the weekend away suggest something you like doing as a quality time acitivty e.g meal, cinema or going for a walk as long as you both spend time together away from the stresses or life and work then thats great me n matt go away bout 3 - 4 times a year just for a week each time but that week makes all the difference xxx

You don't need to compete at all. This is all about having fun not what everyone looks like. Relax and enjoy yourself. The wet look is very sexy by all accounts. My h2b loves it when I have just got out of bed or the shower.

Aw im the same with the hair straightners. We went camping last year and in honesty it wasnt too bad. We got a pitch with an electric hook up so had my mini fridge, hair straightners, hair dryer, kettle and toaster :) was actually quite fun in the end.

oh, would def recommend taking a dustpan and brush. Our pitch was quite stony so we kept getting little stones in our tent. soooo annoying.

oh, n most good campsites have great facilities, showers, toilets, some even have hairdryers (ours didnt but the hand dryer is great if its got a twisty spout!! lol)

Camping is great fun! And dont worry about your hair - you will all look the same after a night under canvas anyway! I would rather go camping than have a beach holiday any day. Its a wonderful thing to wake up in the morning and unzip your tent and have fresh air. Few bottles of wine, air beds, disposable BBQ, great fun! Its all about getting back to basics and just enjoying spend time with someone you love without the pressures of modern living. Leave the hair straighteners at home - no-one really needs them to survive! x

TBH I go camping quite a bit with H2B.

And when the weather is nice it can be fantastic.

But last time we went apart from the first day it peed it down the entire time and was so bad it started coming in through the tent seams slightly. Got absolutely drenched putting the tent down even though I had FULL waterproofs on and to top it off it was gloriously sunny back home the entire time.

Although I will admit its worth going sometimes because of how cheap it can cost. But if I was given a choice I'll take a warm bed in a B&B with luxuries available, but with 2 dogs not always possible. :-s

I got some gas cartridge Braun ones years ago, and they were rubbish. Dont get nearly hot enough. This was about 7 years ago so many things have moved on a bit and they actually work now! before buying any I would google the make and read some reviews

I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you've tried it. I used to use my hair straighteners all the time but once you get there everyone is the same so you dont even notice. Make sure you take some change for the showers cos a lot of places charge you now.
