OMG, purple has been my favorite color since I was a small child but my FH would kill me if I made it a wedding colour. There are so many beautiful purple flowers: lavender, hydrangea, purple roses, purple carnations, purple daisies, phlox, cosmos, hyacinth, gerbera daisies, lilac, statice... and that's all I can think of but there are probably more

Almost sorted just making our order of services then the dreaded table plan to work out and make H2B has an idea for a post box (making it into a big chocolate bar like our invites) I'm going to let him get on with that one but have a back up plan for using a wishing well if it all goes wrong LOL. Oooh still got to buy childrens favour bags we have 20 kids coming to the sit down meal so need to get them all coloring books ect as they cant have our favours as they are miniture bottles of vodka or jack daniels in a purple organza bag.

Im having my bridesmaids in purple dresses and my 10 year niece in same dress just hers with straps,im having candelabras on the tables as we are getting married in a castle with tea lights and purple crystals around!!Not sure if i shud add flowers to the table,but dont want too much if you know what i mean!!!
Still unsure about what flowers for me and bridesmaids thats the next thing on my list!!!We are getting there!;)))X

princess2 be i got my dresses from veromia they are lovely and if you have bridesmaids in different ages they show pics on there website of the dresses in same style grouped together so if your like me and cant visualise for toffee i found it helpfull and their dark purple is the exact same as cadburys purple .

weemindyxxx I am thinking of having some thistle's at wedding too - I lived in Aberdeen for 16 years so would be nice to bring in some of the heritage!

2 of my best friends recently got married and had purple theme which is why we didn't choose it, both were amazing though!
We've decided on Royal Blue but are having trouble getting all the blues to match at the moment xx

It really is a nightmare isn't it?!
I now carry a piece of ribbon around with me at all times!
It's probably my own fault because it's the things I've ordered online that don't match as every websites idea of Royal Blue is different, I'm trying to not get too stressed about it and if everything is a different shade I'll pretend it was meant to be haha xx

SarahR - I am worried about ordering online for that exact reason! It's hard to tell the actual colour, and even if they say its a certain shade - it never is!!!

I'm having a purple and green wedding. Flowers are off white (silk ones) and the stems are covered in ribbon. Mine have a green ribbon and the girls have a purple one to go with their dresses. The men also have green on theirs.

i have learnt quickly that matching purples is hard so i have decided to just have shades of purple as it is so difficult to match them otherwise

ha ha mrs mann snap except without the silver, our theme is ivory with victorian lilac for the girls bridesmaids dresses but all the other purples (ie favour boxes, table flowers etc) are different purple shades simply due to the fact it was really hard to match the victorian lilac up. it is also incorporating lace and pearls now too lol
