Hey all!
Just curious as to how everyone got proposed to or proposed to their OH?
My fiancee got down on one knee on the top of mount timanfaya in Lanzarote (burning his knee in the process), I of course said yes. We were on holiday with my dad and stepmum, sister n her partner. Was simply perfect! That was on 16th October 2010. We got together on 27th October 2007. Only seemed right we get married in October too.

dave wanted to do it in malta but was petrified I would find the ring first. He tried to get me to go away to the lake district instead but I was being a pain about it saying that he had told me we needed to save money for the malta holiday so I didnt see the need to go! Therefore he was reduced to making me climb the LONG way up the great orme in llandudno and did it overlooking the water. He booked my fave rest too for the evening so if he didnt manage, he would do it then. And when we got to his mums, there was a huuuuuge bouquet of red roses waiting for me... he thought of everything.

my oh suprised me :) he got me believing i was going on a christmas shopping trip with my mum. instead she drove me to the train station where he took me to the theater and then suprised me by taking me to a really nice returant where he proposed. everything was perfect except for the horrid woman on next table who was complaing about everything so her bill whould get lowered :/ my oh is not one for suprises so it was lovely :)

Lanzarote is amazing. We really enjoyed that hol.... best hol we have been on. I bet you had even more of an amazing time after being proposed to. We said we would always go different places each year but have already contemplated going back to Lanzarote but next time we would do the bbq on the volcano as the chicken smelt amazing.

Ahh, all your stories are amazing. It just takes me right back to the top of the mountain that day! Suzky123, Lanzarote is amaze, we will def be going back, maybe on a wedding anniversary in a few years! x

I had just gotten home from shopping after school and walked into the bedroom..as I walked in OH lowered down to his knee and stuttered.."Christine, I love you with all my heart..will you marry me?" I was like "of course i will!" He had light candles and put the ring in a beautiful box and he had gotten me my favourite energy juice ;) and had a take away ordered haha :) was great for us :)

My h2b did it at my 25th birthday party infront of everyone on 19th Nov 2011 @ exactly 11pm! (not sure why he chose that time!) our rubbish dj didnt have kings of leon sex on fire (which is our song) and h2b was asking for romantic music while he proposed and he kept on wanting to play happy birthday lol (he was polilsh and english not that good!) in the end he found Bruno Mars - Marry You on the playlist and got him to play that while he proposed!

When he did it i couldnt beleive it! i screamed and was jumping all over the show! didnt even give him the chance to put the ring on my finger coz i snatched it out the box and did it myself! after that i didnt no whether to laugh, cry or scream! but i did nearly faint! it was perfect coz i like a good crowd ;-) xXx

My other half proposed to me at Lake Garda, Italy, while we were sat watching the sun set! I never knew he could be romantic

Aww i know its so nice to read other's story! Best one i heard was my friends fiance taking her and kids to camelot for the day but what she didnt know was he'd been going there regularly to have jousting lessons! so when they got there and the jousting show was about to start, he wandered off and she didnt see him then until he rode in wearing a suit of armour on the back of a horse then jumped off and proposed to her in the middle of the arena! Defo a knight in shining armour :-) they're not together now but still, cute story! lol x

My cheeky h2b waited until i'd picked him up from the pub after a footy game, cooked him a meal, washed up, served up the drinks before he got down on one knee in the kitchen!
Maroon 5 - Moves like Jagger was on the tv and we had a little dance in the kitchen. I said 'God we're so awkward, how are we ever gonna do a first dance?!' and he whipped the ring out and said 'If you marry me we'll find out'. Was such a surprise! I was jet lagged (had just got back from a work trip abroad) and looked a complete mess! Cue major make over in time for the in laws to come round and celebrate with us! x

Mine is also a bit of a long one. Try cutting it short - we got together April 2005 and shortly after he started talking about marriage. Our very first argument actually was in front of a jewellers because I said I don't want a diamond but a cheaper unique vintage ring :-) A few days later he convinced me to try one on which I did - now that was the giddiest feeling and day of my life! He wanted to propose a few months later in Prague on a city trip but got made redundant the month before and cancelled it all. Fast forward a few years - Christmas eve 2009 back home in Austria. There Christmas is celebrated on Christmas eve, presents are opened in the evening just before a big christmas dinner. We were at my parents with our then 1 1/2 year old and my 3 siblings. Everyone was totally dressed up (because thats what you do on Christmas eve there) and our family tradition is to open presents according to age - because I am older than all my siblings and older than h2b it was my turn after 5 other people (takes a while) and h2b was strangely tense and quiet (I did wonder why) - when it was my turn and I had opened up all presents I wondered where's h2bs prezzie and he suddenly said oh dear I forgot to put it out - and even though I had suspected it (he wasn't that clever in covering his tracks the month before :-)) I was taken by surprise - h2b went to fetch the "present", my brother put on Sinatra, my mother quickly grabbed the child and my dad got all teary eyed and poured champagne (by then I had a big question mark on my face and just wondered what the hell is going on) and then h2b came in and went down on his knee - he had written a poem and asked me to marry him. And I giggled as I do when I get nervous. I giggled my head off. Also said yes. :-)))

Later they showed me the station outside the flat. My dad had put up a smoking station and shots of vodka for dutch courage :-) (as if he would need this after so many years together but he did :-))

I have tears coming down my face, they are such lovely proposals.

I work a lot of nights, at the time I was working on a care of the elderly ward, Matt couldn't sleep so we texting on my break, he texted he couldn’t wait any longer and basically proposed. The only hitch was when he text I had been called out of break to see to a patient, he thought I was turning him down. Obviously I said yes, I didn't tell any of the girls in work because I though it was a joke, although we had talked about getting married but he'd been saving for the ring and, like a child, the excitement was too much for him to wait any longer.
