I have been looking at and have fallen in love with a few of the Pronovias gowns, just wondered if anybody had tried any on and if anybody had any idea of what sort of prices they average at? Dont want to let myself fall in love with something I will never be able to have!!
CommentAuthorMrsE 2b
I have seen a few lovely ones online, but I'm also not sure of prices either. I did a search online which suggested £1K plus. But as their flagship store is on bond st I'm not sure that's entirely accurate! xx
CommentAuthorHollyB42
I have seen prices online ranging from £750 to £28,000 ha!! I have also seen mentioned that they are far cheaper in spain (makes sense since they are a Spanish brand) so I have an appointment at one of their stores in Marbella over the summer to get an idea too! xxx
CommentAuthorNicsquared
They have prices on their website as a guide, most of the ranges seem to be £1.2k plus but there is a you range which are £600- £1000
There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!
CommentAuthorHollyB42
Wow I must be losing my marbles, I have searched everywhere for prices on their site an cant find anything! I think the general consensus online seems to be that it is only the Elie Saab range that are like £8k upwards.
If you go to the 2012 page and roll your cursor over the collection it tells you :)

awesome, thanks nicsquared! huge range in price tho, and you can bet that the ones everyone likes are the most expensive!
CommentAuthorHollyB42
Ah brilliant thank you, I must have looked at that website 100 times but have never noticed that! I really love Bermo from the Costura collection, looks like they go up to £3,100 but possibly may be cheaper in Spain fingers crossed! I absolutely love some of the gowns in the 2013 preview collection but not sure if they are available yet, dont suppose anybody has any idea?x

I'm going to their flagship shop on Bond Street on Saturday to try dresses on :D
Want to try ones i the glamour collection (see my thread for the one I really like).

Wow im so jelous, I have to wait until July to get to a flagship store! You will have to let us know how it goes and what sort of prices they are!
CommentAuthorInDreamland
I think the ones I really want to try are £1300 upwards. Let me know what you think of the dress I really want to try and compared to my current front runner :D xx

Is bond st the only store with the full collection does anyone know? xx
CommentAuthorHollyB42
Its absolutely beautiful, I have just put a note on the other thread, what really strikes me from looking at pictures online of the Pronovias gowns is that the fabric looks far better quality and far heavier than other brands. Particularly with a satin rather than lace like the one you are looking at it just makes such a huge difference to have gorgeous fabric. Im so jelous of you getting set free in a whole store of Pronovias!!xxx
CommentAuthorHollyB42
I think Harrods has the full range too but not 100% certain. In Europe there seem to be lots of exclusively Pronovias stores but not so much in the UK :( XXX
CommentAuthorInDreamland
I think Bond Street may be the only one, not sure Harrods carries every style, maybe just give them a call.
I know what you mean about quality of fabric. Some big name designers dresses I've tried on have been awful quality fabric, I was so disappointed, the best quality I've tried on so far is MIJ and Ritva Westenius. Looking forward to trying the Pronovias :D

I wonder if Bond Street has the 2013 advanced collection yet then? There are some beautiful gowns in that collection that would be worth the trip to London for me to try if they dont have them in Marbella yet. xxx
CommentAuthorInDreamland
Call them and ask hun. If you want an appointment on a Saturday you will need to book one about 5 weeks in advance as they're so busy. x

Ah, my appointment with the store in Marbella is 4 weeks on saturday so I may aswell wait for that if its such a long wait, I think I will give them a call to ask about the 2013 collections though, my Spanish isnt really good enough to get a straight answer out of the store im going to over the phone haha!x
CommentAuthorHollyB42
I've just spoken to the Bond St store they were lovely and so helpful! They have the dress I love in but don't have any weekend appointments until September!!!
CommentAuthorMrsP2be
I tried quite a few Pronovia dresses on and just to warn you they come up small. Very small. The shop that i went to stocked only size 8 & 10. I am a small size 12 and i couldnt try half the dresses on (they wouldnt go over me head or my bum) so it completely put me off. The prices of the ones i tried on ranged from £1,8000 to £3,000. xxxx

My dress is a pronovias and it was originally £1500 but I got it at a sample sale

Thank you for that MrsPtobe bit of a worry as I'm a good dress size bigger than you :( hope they have them in bigger sizes at the shop I'm going to tomorrow!!x
CommentAuthorMrsP2be
I hope they do as well becasue the dresses themselves are gorgeous. If i was running a bridal shop I would probably stock larger sizes as you get get smaller people in them & clip them in. Let me know how you get on! xx
CommentAuthorHollyB42
I actually got confused and it's the shop with Pronovias next weekend, maybe I can drop a few dress sizes in a week haha! I was just having that conversation with a girl in work surely it would make more sense to buy them in a really big size so everybody can try them, surely the majority of customers aren't tiny size 8s!!x
CommentAuthorsprucey83
Have you checked other sellers, they may not have the full range but you might find a few styles you like that are stocked? One of the bridal shops i went to in Bexleyheath had Pronovias dresses, i didn't get to try them on as i tried on a few others instead, but there might be a store nearer you?x
CommentAuthorHollyB42
I am going to see a store which stocks quite a lot of Pronovias next sat so hopefully they will have a good selection, I just absolutely love one from their 2013 advanced collection (Dauco if anyone is familiar) and very few stockists seem to have samples in the new stuff! Knowing me I won't even like it when I see it haha!x
CommentAuthorInDreamland
I went to Pronovias in Bond Street yesterday and I think their sample dresses are the bigger sizes as all 5 I tried on I had to be clipped in and there must've been at least 4 inches slack when they clipped me in.
They do stock the 2013 collection too as I tried some on from the 2013 range :D
The girl who served us was really helpful and nice. xx

Ah so exciting! How did they compare to the other brand you were looking at? I have booked an appointment there for the next available Saturday which is...22nd September!! They have a sample of my favourite dress Dauco from the 2013 collection so thought I should get it booked in incase they don't have it in Marbella since there is such a long wait! Xxx
CommentAuthorInDreamland
The quality was just a good as the MIJ dresses so no worries there :D
Don't worry about the sample sizes, as I said, there was plenty to clip up and I'm a size 8-10 so I'm guessing the samples I tried on must've all been 12-14's at least.
Dauco is a pretty dress. They are very popular there but worth the wait as they were really good with me. You get 1 hour and allowed to try on 5 dresses within your session. I managed to get her to agree to trying on 6 as I promised that I'd be fast as anything I didn't like or wasn't sure of I'd be in and outta the dress in 60 seconds as I now know what it is I like. She was really nice and agreed, unfortunately one dress they didn't have in store but I still had 15 mins to spare as I was so fast, poor girl I think couldn't believe how quick I was lol.

One thing not quite so great was they are less flexible with customising the dress is you want to add/change something slight whereas the other shop and dress I can change things more easily.
Would love to hear your opinion on the two dresses I'm considering now (my other thread now not far below this one at the moment) :D x

So are the dresses made to measure completely or do you buy them in a dress size and then have them tailored? Just had a look at the dresses and commented both are beautiful!xxx
CommentAuthorInDreamland
They're made or order, they order in your size and then it's altered to fit you. They say you need to order 6-8 months before the wedding. Thanks hun xx

Wow I guess I will be cutting it fine in September then! Nice to know you found the fabrics so nice, when I called for the price of Dauco I was really pleasantly surprised but worried that the price may mean the fabrics weren't great! Xxx
CommentAuthorInDreamland
All the fabrics of the 5 dresses I tried on were lovely, very good quality. The Georgia one was thick and heavy though although looks like the Dauco is a lighter fabric so you should be ok hun. Don't worry about the quality. Most of the dresses I tried on were under £1300.

Depends on the collection. All the ones I tried were the 2012 and 2013 Glamour collections and was very pleasantly surprised. The two I liked, Georgia which was then bumped for Dorothy were both under £1300 .................cheaper than the MIJ dress! x

My friend had a Jesus Piero dress and it was beautiful but very plain no real embellishments at all and that was £2500 so I was expecting them to be more than that! Did you look at their veils too?x
CommentAuthorInDreamland
No I didn't look at the veils. I wanted to choose the dress first so if I decide the Dorothy dress is the one I'll then try their veils when I go back xx

The two that I loved are Dalia and Durban, i think they are both from 2012 Costura collection, but I think Durban had the edge, my mum liked it best anyway! I think Durban is a definate possibility for 'the one' but there are still a few I want to try on. The pictures just dont do them justice they are amazing!x
