Wedding Forum - Progress...??...

well mil2b has done my head in from the start as she's shown no interest in her only son getting married. she's not coming to cyprus, which i would've accepted if it had been for money reasons, but she say's she's scared of flying...when she was talking about going on a plane to do geneology research. ppfftt!!

anyway, i have held this against her. any time we brought up the wedding, she would change the subject. once, she actually started to talk over me about some random crud when i was in the middle of a conversation!!! how bloody rude!!!

well, a few days ago, she was at the house and started asking about the venue back home (our blessing). she had mentioned something to h2b a while ago about paying for the venue hire, but he told her it was free. i thought she was going to offer to pay again and i'd have to remind her it's free venue hire. nope. her drunken partner is 60 next year and was wanting to arrange a surprise birthday party for him. eh, excuse me?? your son is getting married and you don't give a flying PIG about that, yet you're wanting to organise a bash for your loser man?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! i was absolutely raging!! i physically had to bite my lip and leave the room!!!

5 minutes later, she asked me about favours. i said we weren't going to have favours as we really couldn't afford it now. well, she's offered to make all the favours!! result!!! i am so happy she has (at last) shown an interest in the wedding!! she's quite excited about the favours and been looking up lots of different options. i've tried to include her in everything, but she's not been interested, so i'm shocked she's doing it now, all off her own back :)

so, now i'm going to have favours. but to be honest, i could've lived without them. i'm just pleased that the mil2b is at last showing interest. that's all i've ever wanted :)

oh, and sil2b (who i'm close to) works in a whiskey bond, so she's going to get personalised minatures for the male guests!!

Its great shes showing some kind of interest but sounds exctly like my mil2b! she is so cheeky we have been together for 6 years and sehe still tries to cause problems evrytime we mention the wedding she changes the subject or snubs the conversation, or she will bring up that we should get married at 4 then have a buffett and everyone leaves at 10! we have been planning this wedding since march and she still adds sly diggs like we have ages and why are we booking things and that i always have to bite my tongue around her she will never say anything to my face just take h2b into the next room and have ago at him, xxx
