According to the Daily Mail Prince William isn't going to have a wedding ring.

Most of the couples we see at smooch both have rings. About 10% of grooms don't.

What do you think? Is he setting a bad example or do you think he SHOULD have a ring like most Grooms do these days. Its over 80 years since a royal groom didn't have a wedding ring - could this be the start of a trend?

It depends on his reason for it. Not that I personally think any reason is good enough not to have one. He could have one, but not wear it, for example, if he was a surgeon and would be unhygenic for him to do so. If I were Kate, I wouldn't be a happy bunny...

It's not like anyone won't know that he isn't married!

I was very clear with my fiance that I would not be happy if he weren't wearing a ring, but he got quite into it. He's having a slightly funky palladium ring and even has a titanium and diamond engagement ring!

I was under the impression that male royals wore a signet ring on their left hand to signify their married status.

(Could be wrong of course as not 100% on that)

It does surprise me a little given how modern they're being with other aspects of the wedding.

Do agree with lala that it will not really influence many men overall as to what he does either way though.

I don't mind if h2b doesn't wear a ring after we're married. He's always said that he would. If a man is going to play away a ring wouldn't stop him, he could easily take it off.

yeah Im a bit silly - I know my H2B loves me and would never cheat - its simply not in him to do it. So im not worried about him. I just want all women to look at him and be like 'Oh some lucky girl has bagged him already! boo!'

I just dont want anyone looking at him and thinking he's fair game! Although I know he would just kick them to the kurb - or in fact just not notice he was being flirted with! lol!

I quite like the idea of other women being jealous, particularly as I know that's part of what he likes about me wearing a fairly noticeable rock in front of other men.

my h2b is already wearing a ring - it is a plain tungsten brushed metal ring. Very plain and manly and he wears it on his wedding finger (I bought it for him when I asked him to marry me)

And so he looks like he's married already and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it looks.

I wasn't planning to get him one, but he had his heart set on a titanium ring. He agreed that it wasn't a good idea to have an unsizeable ring for his wedding ring so I surprised him with a titanium ring to wear as an engagement ring. It looks more like a wedding ring but he's quite happy with that and even his very traditional parents haven't commented on it.

My H2b will have one but probably wont wear it for work as he is a carpet fitter and doesn't want to ruin it. I understand this and don't mind as I like things to be kept as nice as possible. However if he doesn't wear it out of work I will be upset and tell him to put it on.

I would like my H2B to wear his ring. I would wonder why if he didn't.
When we first got engaged he worked as a tree surgeon, so I wouldn't of minded if he took his ring off whilst at work, as I wouldn't want him to lose it or bend it or anyting. But he now has a change of job working in a bank so there should be no reason for him not wear it.

My H2B is having one but if he wares it all the time is anyone's guess lol

'Is he setting a bad example or do you think he SHOULD have a ring like most Grooms do?'
There are no flipsides to the options in the question i.e is it bad he has no ring or is it bad he has no ring!
But I do agree, it does seem right for both partners to wear a ring. But really it's up to him. My dad doesn't wear his. As long as the wife is ok with it, I suppose it's ok.

Put it like this my ex husband refused to wear one & he cheated (not saying all men would) but i was very sus about him not wearing it & my dad didnt wear his & he too cheated.
H2b said he be proud to be wearing his, lucky really else id probs not gone through with the wedding if he didnt, a ring says im married so all married men should wear one, if he wont then there must be a very good reason for it like work health reasons or no hands!!.

As for any other groom, it is down to their choice between them and their wives....H2b will be wearing a wedding ring, he spent enough getting it made exactly how he wanted it and when they arrived and he tried it on he didnt want to take it off.... so i guess thats a good sign lol.

If they are in a job that means they could put themselves at risk (ie working machinery and it could get caught and rip the finger off) then I could understand it but other than that I would want my h2b to wear his ring all the time. If he were in a job as previously pointed out then I would want him to wear it at weekends etc when he wasn't at work.

To me the ring represents your marriage and that you are committed to each other. I know you don't have to show off to everyone else but its a constant reminder to yourself of the commitments that you made to each other and a sign of your love to each other. I will wear my ring with pride and would want my h2b to do the same. (not that I have a problem with that as he wants it just as much as I do)

My OH works in a factory with wood and uses heavy machinery, so he won't be wearing his wedding ring whilst at work, fair enough. He did say he will wear it at all other times.

OH broke his finger at work last year when he got the tip of it stuck in a hydraulic press! just imagine how much worse it could have been if a ring had been on his finger and got ripped off too?! eeeekkkkk!

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)
