Hey ladies, i just thought id share... Yesterday my mother in law went to the jewellers with her gold locket she no longer wanted just to find out how much she could get for it... they offered her £50.00!! the jeweller said that at the moment gold is worth £1000 per ounce!! her brother in law went up with some old stuff he found in his cupboard and came away from the shop with £585.00!!!

Ive dug out all of my old rings, necklaces, earrings (even broken ones) im going to go up and see how much i will get for it!! its pointless it all sitting in my jewellery box doing nothing, i know i will never wear any of it so may as well put the money towards the wedding!! I will update you all on how much I get!.

Hope this helps you girls, if get digging!! lol

    xxxxxx

Yeah, I did thankfully. They gave me just over £300. So I managed to replace 2 of my rings, the ones that were most important and treated my sisters and my mum to something new as well.
So it kind of worked out okay in the end. I was so gutted though, cos it was a supposed friend who stole the stuff and he got away with a slap on the wrist, even though he has a massive track record. xx

I've got a load of old rings I want to sell (I don't wear gold anymore) but they all have stones in - would I get more for them if I sold them as rings or scrap gold? Will the jewellers give me money for the stones as well as the gold?

Ignition - I agree - argos do have some nice jewellery - why pay extra? No-one will know where they're from, and if they do - who cares? x

Ignition - that happened to me just after christmas - i had gone to stay at my mums for the weekend - came back and everything worth taking was taken! - i had left my engagement ring in the box in my draw as i was unable to wear it due to being pregnant - and my fingers had swallon - guess what....... THEY TOOK THAT TOO!!! my fiance brought me a new one from goldsmiths and claimed my ring back on the insurance - 6months later we get a letter and i could spend £1,000 in hsamuels i wasnt supposed to know how much it costed lol - but i was gutted that he had already went and brought another

This is a defo must!! i have loads of jewelerry i cannot wear due to being allergic to gold! i come up in rashes, spots, and blotchy red marks - can only wear white gold ;-) xx

So Ive been to the jewellers this morning with my old gold, 2 18ct Necklaces a 18ct ring 3 9ct rings some 9 ct earrings and some more crap.... I got £440.00!!!!! delighted!! just paid off the rest of our wedding rings so now have them home and have £280.00 in my pocket to put into the wedding fund!! result!!

They do not include the stones in the gold, just the gold so it may be worth asking what each individual ring is worth sold as second hand jewellery! Good luck everyone :) xxxx
