Hi All hope im doing this right its my first post !

I have been looking around for quotes for wedding photography and was wondering if you all could give me some help
We are on a very tight budget, we want a nice wedding but cant afford to pay a fortune for it. I have been getting quotes for a photographer and my friend recommended some one and this is his price he has quoted me

"My package for 2013 consists of all day photography, from bridal
preparation
until first dance(7:30/8PM)
A Disc containing the high res images from the day (unlimited printing and
using yourself )
Online Password protected gallery of your images to share with family and
friends.
Pre wedding loveshoot with a 10x8 print (with the option of upgrading to a
signing board for £40)
There are optional extras of albums and prints (prices vary, a 20 page
photobook type album costs £130).
The cost for this package would be £650"

Is this price good for what he has quoted me?

Our photographer is £1250 so yep sounds good to me (on usb stick and buying an album from her after the day)

Just make sure you meet with him and go through one of his weddings so you know you like how he does a complete wedding before booking and remember cheapest isnt always best!

Hails he was the photographer at my friends wedding i was her bridesmaid and he was brilliant hardly even knew he was there and her photos are amazing he is also a genuinely nice man ... i didn't know if this price was cheap or expensive lol never needed a photographer before xx

Great price, ours is costing £950 which we get everything you get plus a storybook album with 100 images plus a parent book for each of our parents x

Kelbel if that is the storybook I'm thinking of they are amazing! We haven't booked our photographer yet, but I have my eye on a lady who seems amazing and offers the storybooks. Though we will only be having a small one as a 40 page one is costing way too much money.

photography from bridal preparation until after speeches (will have pics pretending to cut the cake as he may not be covering the reception.)
A Disc containing the high res images from the day to print and share
Online Password protected gallery of your images to share
50+ photo storybook, 2 parent albums and 4 guest albums

Annoyingly though he is an extra £40 per hour after the speeches so wearent sure what to do for photography later in the day / eve yet.

We are paying £1000 for our package which includes:

Engagement shoot
2 photographers from preperation until 11pm
All images on disc with copyright
Online password protected gallery
A 40 page story book with coice of covers and picture presentations,
Either a large print of one image, or 2 smaller ones (framed)
A photobooth for the evening
A photo calender with images from the day

So I think the price you have been quoted is about right for what you are getting xxx

Oh we also get 2 complimentary pictures for the parents too (they are printed out on site so can be given as thank you presents during the speeches) xx

Wow, your prices are ace for what you're getting linzi-jo.

We are only having one up to the wedding breakfast (well, they're are two photogs) and that's costing 415 with all images on disc.

We are paying £975 for 8 hours from bridal prep to first dance and inluding photo shoot before and photo for guests to sign on the day. Didn't want to pay for album yet as didn't know what we wanted. Going to get them on disk with full copyright.

We're paying £395 for one photographer from bridal preparation until the reception and then getting all the photo's taken, edited on a disc. We've also got a family friend who is very handy with a camera taking pics of the evening reception for free. I can't believe how expensive photographers are! I would have loved to have 2 photographers, a photo booth etc but it's just not fair to ask my parents to pay £1000's :-/ x

Our photographer is £349, which is photos from arrival of the guests until just before the reception starts, with all photos 8x6" in an album and presentation box, plus all photos on cd for us to reprint and enlarge which ones we want. But thats fine with us, I was more interested in having a videographer as so many people will be taking photos anyway :)

Booked it today ours is a story book, but it's 185 photos plus two parent books plus disc of shots plus a DVD sideshow, coverage from 8am til 9.30pm, and it's £895 x

I can't believe how much photographers charge.I'm really lucky that my brother in law is a photographer so we luckily don't have to go pay that kind of money. On a related thread is anyone videoing their wedding. We're undecided, well I'm more for it but have to convince Pete. The prices of our local video men are over a grand so we're thinking of booking a film it yourself company. I came across NAME REMOVED on ANOTHER site. Has anyone ever heard of them or know anyone whose used them? They're much cheaper than Shoot it yourself for the same thing. Any advice would be appreciated. Looking to decide in the next few days. Thanks xx
