So, I'm just venting here... Finally agreed on a bm dress, in albumn, in plum. And I've come to order them and the shop is telling me the dresses are £180 each and not £160 as advertised.

The dress had a label stating £160, no other info. And the shop assistant told me it was £160 and wrote this down with the style number on a compliments slip. The shop owner is off long term sick has been away for 5 weeks, and I can't get a decision from them as they can't speak to the owner. Really frustrated. And hoping they will sell them to me for the advertised price, as I have to pay an extra£20 for extra length on one of them.

So so annoyed, I just want to order them :-(

I think your mad spending that on a BM dress my budget is around £50 per dress from the highstreet stores x

Hi Mrs C to be!!! I am a trainee lawyer and know a bit about consumer law. People usually think that shops have to sell at advertised price but this is not the case. However a lot of people believe it to be the case as i stated so if i were you i would tell them you know your consumer rights and they have to sell at the advertised price - worth a shot?!

What a mess. Did you buy your dress from them? Legal or not, I wouldn't buy the dresses from them.

Thanks guys, they've called me back and are more than happy to honour the price. I'm only buying them from there, I plan to get them altered from my bridal shop. Katielea100, it is a bit more than I anticipated, but to be honest,I have been hell bent on finding dresses I like, and that they all like, want and can feel comfortable in. This has been really hard work, and finally this was the dress all parties loved. I'm happy to pay the price as we are all happy. I looked in the high street, but I didn't find anything that I liked or felt bridesmaidy, my girls wanted long dresses, and not shorter ones.the only shop I found dresses I liked was coast, selling at similar prices, but they didn't match my colour scheme.

But I've got them ordered. This by far has been the most difficult thing to sort out

    Glad you've got it sorted!

We also went way over budget on bridesmaids dresses, largely because we wanted floor-length ones and on of my bridesmaids is 6'1" in bare feet, so, all the floor length ones on the high street weren't long enough :-s That and they just didn't have as big a range of colours :-s

So yeah, I feel you on the stress thing lol! But good that they honoured the price and you now have dresses you all love! :-D
