Has anyone's venue been subject to price increase whilst the wedding has been booked and what kind of increase did you have to pay?
I'm a little concerned that H2B won't book my dream venue as in the terms and conditions of the contract it states the price is held until Dec 2014 anything booked after that will be subject to increase.
I'm feeling a little dumb, does that mean if i book my wedding at the weekend for feb 2015 i wont be subject to price increases or i will as its after the dec 2014 deadline?
''Your wedding booked is subject to price increases. The current fixed price wedding package is valid until December 2014. Any weddings booked for after this time will be applicable to price changes, please budget for this price rise.''
That suggests to me like i could be in for an increase that i cant afford :(
ergh why must terms and conditions confuse me so!?

I think the key phrasing here is ' ...for after this time...'. That says to me that any date after 31 Dec 2014 is subject to an increase. I can't help you on how much that may be I'm afraid though as I haven't experienced that x

Mine can go up to £500 a year they said, Im getting married aug 2014. I booked with 2 years to go so it has go up £500 already so waiting to see if it goes up once more. I found that all the venues wouldnt fix prices but i suppose its because food and drink go up every year so they wouldnt make the same profit, Everything else i booked have fixed their prices like my photographer transport etc.. And even if i pay upfront they wouldnt fix it.
wow £500 a year that would shoot me straight over my budget :(

Wow but yeah I think that does mean it will increase for you however if you come to an agreement with them about paying the balance in full before the rise date the you may be ok but obviously that is something you have to discuss with them. Good luck :S

Mine are holding the price they havent mentioned anything about a price increase which is just aswell at the minute. It sound though as if there will be an increase though hun so I would defo ask by how much and also if you pay before 31.12 if they will hold it its not like your getting married that far in the future xx

If you ask some venues will freeze the fee at this years prices, but thats only the venue fee. Things on top like food, drink, hire equipment through the venue will probably have to increase in line with supplier increases. Our venue is £100 more than 2014 prices abyway, although not seen terms and conditions yet so will see if it mentions further increases. Registrar fee was the same, I paid my reservation fee Monday and was told each april the attendance/notice fee will increase anywhere between £5 and £25!

Mine froze the 2011 price as that's when I got our first quote. It had gone up but £20 a head but as part of my bargin they have frozen the price so its worth asking!

Ask them that if you pay the balance before the deadline, then will it be fixed? It would be unfair of you to pay it all by the end of Dec only for them to demand another x amount
CommentAuthorMrsH-2B
I wouldn't have booked mine if they told me the price would increase before the wedding.. How are you meant to know how much to save if you don't know a definite price.. Mines 2015 and the price is frozen at the quote I received in March.. xxx

That wording is basically saying that for any dates before Dec 2014 the price is fixed; as yours falls after Dec 2014, you could be subject to price increases.
I would speak to them and see if they will fix it, given that your date is only a couple of months later. It's certainly worth asking.

It's worth asking if the will fix the price for you. X

she says the price my contract says is the price i will pay the increase only applies to VAT increases......well it doesnt say that so im still dubious x

My venue have given a fixed price on their website right up until 2015. If you ask they should be able to give you a price breakdown of everything plus any extras due to vat increase x

We booked ours in may 2012 for the wedding to be 11th July 2014 so a year today. With our booking They said we would get it at 2012 price as we payed our Deposit and it won't go up as its in the deal we have Signed. I hope this helps. Xx
