I paid for my power user status a year ago because I wanted to do the website but so far we only have a ticker and smilies. Does anyone know when the rest might be coming? A lot of us girls will be married at this rate with no extras which we paid for because we thought they were a good idea xxx

ok ive found the part of the convo that we had about this and hope it helps............

Okay Power User tools, completion date summer 2011, as advertised and made clear in Supermarket, we have had one complaint and offered to send the money back. These tools are MASSIVE, and take hours and hours of painstaking work.

Most members are happy racking up points to turn their heart silver or gold

i get that they take a long time to make, but why charge for them before they are available? why not wait until they are ready before letting people buy them? xx

edit: i havent bought it but if i had i would be a tad pist off lol. did consider buying but thought it would be more fun to "earn my stripes" little did i know it would be so addictive xx

I was happy to pay after a convo with IT Man via email about how it helps UK Bride grow and keeps them in coffee, lol which was obviously a joke (the coffee I mean). I love the yakking and discussions but I really did want to do a website here, which is why I paid but have done one anyway elsewhere (shame on me) to keep family who live away in the loop. I just wanted to know as I was told it would be available but it is a bit naughty to advertise it if it isn't available methinks xx

yeah especially as you havent had it for a year already and it wont be done until 2011! does take the "p" abit when you've paid for something and getting the same as everyone who hasnt paid, if you get what i mean... its like when you go on holiday and you find out the couple sitting next to you got the same holiday for cheaper lol xx

    Hi ladies,

I think you have every right to be cross with us. I am more than happy to give you your money back if you feel you have been misled in anyway.

Due to the recession we have had to put a hold on the huge task of building the tools and concentrate on keeping suppliers happy with various new benefits for them.

We were hoping to have built the Power Tools this year, but we now believe it will be Summer 2011 as mentioned when you bought your Power Loyalty Card.

We are currently building the "Wedding Wheel" - this is like Wheel of fortune! Every time you login you can choose to spin the wheel. You can win loyalty points everyday (5, 10 , 50 , 100, 5000) or win the chance to be entered into the £25,000 competition again. EVERY DAY you can spin the wheel. This means that brides who use UKbride the most have a much higher chance of winning the competition! Seems a fair idea to me.

We are a small team with big ideas. Please be patient with us, we are working flat out at the moment!

Sorry if we have upset any of our members x x x

    Hi J.
Thank you for explaining. However, All I saw when I paid to be a power user was a list of benefits, nothing said that the benefits would come in Summer 2011.
I would like my money back as I think it is a lot to pay for getting nothing.
HOWEVER: If you were to do a sponsorship thing which was optional to help keep the costs low. IE users optionally pay £3/month I would be more than happy to do that.
I begrudge paying a tenner for a power user sign though.

    Thank you J.

The sponsorship idea is just to help mods with the running costs of the site.
A lot of sites/forums I am on do that.
When members sign up, they are given an option to sponsor the site for like £3 a month and for that they get (example) 1000 points.
A bit like a paid membership but paying is optional if you know what I mean.

I love the sponsorship idea... But would anyone pay?

Wedding Wheel is for everyone! We are also building a point system... So you earn points to click on adverts, and shout outs etc... New Facebook login just built, this makes it easier for brides to login but also new joiners have an advert placed automatically on their Facebook page which is free advertising for us to encourage more members.

We are also building an automatic weely email and an appointment setting service... So all you do is click on a button 'arrange visit' and a message is sent to photographer for example which says 'this bride wants you to contact her' etc (I'll explain full details nearer the time.)

All of these items will be built before Christmas, then it will take IT Man s team 6 months to build all of the apps for the powers users, some will take a few weeks to
Build and some a few months! When they're built they will go live.

We have to ensure that UKbride works gor the wedding businesses too and that's why we are building this first elements as all help the suppliers (and brides)!

no momari we are talking about making it optional to pay a fee once a month to help run the site and make it better. And if this was to happen what would we get in return. not doing away with the £10 or making it so you had to pay every month.
