So, after my earlier disappointment with the photographer we thought we wanted booking up with another couple (thanks again ladies for you support with that one) some good news has arisen!!

Now, i know i shouldn't get my hopes up as it may not happen by H2B today out of the blue said " what about .... ? He's a photographer? Referring to a guy he plays poker with and who is one of the oldest friends of one of our ushers! We admire his photos all the time as his family photos and landscape shots on FB are always amazing. He only really does it for a hobby but I was like, right i'm going to google him. Turns out he's got a website we didn't know he had and guess what!!! There were three weddings!! H2B said he knows he doesn't do it professionally and so must only do it for friends but the photos i've looked at tonight are amazing! Really stunning artistic ones, not just your standard point and shoot!

So we are going to ask him how he feels about maybe doing our wedding!! Again, I know it might not work out and he might say no or be busy but i'm super excited!! Keeping my fingers mega crossed he'll do it for us!!! Eeeeek! xxxx

Thanks ladies, i've got my fingers crossed too! Although H2B told me in a very stern voice earlier tonight "Don't get obsessesd with this it might not happen"!! So i'm just hoping! But trying to be realistic too. H2B isn't seeing him for a couple of weeks so will find out then.

Has anyone else used a friend or friend or friend of friend for anything for their wedding?

    Lizzy. x

I don't want to put a damper on this but you should really think long and hard before you book a friend. There's a very long thread called, So gutted I cant even talk about it.....without getting upset. I can't bump it because it's been closed but you can find it if you search for it. It really highlights what can go wrong when you hire a friend to take photos.

Our photographer is going to be my mum's friend, however he is a professional wedding photographer with his own company, but it did mean we already knew him so feel comfortable around him, and he knocked £750 off the price for us, so it is worth looking in to. But as Samantha said, make sure you can completely trust him to be professional and do a good job otherwise it could end in heartbreak and a broken friendship xxx
