    Hey lovely people :)

Just wanted to run this past you all to see what you think. I'm not allowed to tell h2b yet so have to get it off my chest!

Basically, h2b's brother-in-law and a friend of h2b from home had a very minor bump in their cars on a country road about a year or more ago. Long story short there were disagreements over what happened, insurance etc, and the two guys fell out.

H2b's sister was chatting to me today and she said her husband has decided he isn't going to h2b's stag because the other guy will be there and he doesn't want to get into a fight with him.

Now, my reaction was oh for goodness sake grow up - it's not about you two and your stupid pointless argument, it's about my h2b and his stag night when you're all supposedly there because you're his friends!

But do any of you think he's just trying to be responsible by avoiding a fight situation??

I dunno, I personally think at the age of 35 he should be able to control himself in public, and this is just pathetic. Plus, the other guy will be at the wedding...so does that mean h2b's brother-in-law won't come to the wedding in case he gets into a fight?!?! ffs....

(and the reason I'm not allowed tell h2b is cuz the brother-in-law is coming to visit in March and h2b's sister reckons he might have changed his mind by then...)

My first thought was the same as you, grow up! We had a couple of so called 'friends' who were dating, had a fall out & one said they wouldn't come to the wedding if the other was going to be there, so I told them both to grow up & if they couldn't put their differences aside for one day, then they're not the mates I thought! Needless to say, neither are invited now lol. But I do think he should be able to control himself! Even if he just plans on not drinking so much so he won't get out of control? Men hey! xx

I think it would actually be a good opportunity to clear the air before the wedding....I would hope they'd both behave themselves for your h2bs sake

You know what blokes are like...it either end up in fisticuffs or they'll be hugging each other saying 'I love you, man!'.

    Xx

Hmmmm.... its a hard one! I think he may be making a wise decision as if there is going to be alot of alcohol at the stag as things may get out of hand and if a comment is made it could potentially kick off. At the wedding there will be more people and they can avoid each other a lot easier. But at the same time, they are grown men and should really be able to put their disagreements aside for one night xxx

I agree, they are grown men! The stag is about your h2b, not about them so they should be able to be civil to each other for one night xx

Yeah it is a hard one....I'm kinda fuming because h2b was best man for the brother-in-law who isn't going to the stag...knowing my luck I'll end up minding more than h2b will! Ha! Just seems silly, but then as you say Linzi-Jo, there'll be a lot of alcohol....

I still think overall they should put it to one side when it's h2b's day! Grr arg!

If he doesn't feel he can behave himself after a few drinks perhaps it's just as well he doesn't go. I'm sure h2b wouldn't want his stag do ruining x

You're right, it would sour the whole thing. It's just a bit blurgh..... It's probably just because I'm still cross about it - I'll have calmed down by tomorrow ;)

i have to say i can see why he would think about no going wouldn't go ... looks like he is trying to make sure there is no trouble on the stag do and although hsb bil knows he wont do anything he is concerned that the other guy will ....so to avoid a situation arising he is taking himself out of the equation

I thought the same as some, that he was doing it to avoid a situation so that H2B did not get upset about them ruining his night. However, I also think that they need to put this behind them for this night, but then you know what men are like with a few beers in them.

Is there any chance you could talk to his friend and find his views?

I can see why he would say that and it is a sensible decision, but they need to realise that theyre going to support the marriage of there friend, not to kick off with one another! Im sure they could act grown up for the sake of their friend for one night or whatever, and also first thought was also grow up! xxx

The other thing is, are they both going to be at the wedding? If so this should be the opportunity to put things behind them and get on, it's one thing saying he won't go to the stag do, but if they are both going to the wedding they will be confronting each other there.

I agree with the comments about him being at the wedding? Surely it would make sense to go to the stag do to clear e air, as whats to stop him kicking off at the wedding instead?

its a very immature - and really quite pathetic - attitude to take, especially as it is over something so minor overall. No one can get on with everyone, and if he realy can't bear to spend time with this other chap, surely they can sit themselves away from each other etc?

I think he's being responsible actually! If he's not ready to be civil then it could cause problems with drink involved!
I've been invited to my sisters wedding but so had my ex (who is the father of my children) and I have no idea why he's been invited cos he's nothing to do with my family anymore, but anyway I've said the same thing I'm not going to the wedding if he does cos he just has a way of manipulating people and I don't want myself or my fiancé to feel uncomfortable, so it's up to her to choose who's more important, her sis or a nobody!

Maybe he feels that at the wedding there will be a lot more people and so can avoid him more easily? I do think it is childish but if he isn't confident of going and not causing trouble/tension then I think i'd feel more comfortable him staying at home. I know your h2b will want him there but i'm sure he would like a stree free stag do more.

Is there any chance your h2b could get both the guys together before the stag do to clear the air?
