So went to pick up my veil in the shop today and the owner told me just before I was about to leave that the BM dresses had come in, she was so excited.
So she brought them out and showed me. Gorgeous dresses, only one problem, they look more pinky than the deep red we chose. They are supposed to be burgundy but they have a definite pinky tinge. Now I can just about live with it (apparently there is a colour tolerance with all BM dresses so you don't always get the perfect colour you ordered) .................problem is, my sister and best mate don't touch pink with a barge pole!
Worried they will hate the dresses now and will be too pink rather than the deep red/burgundy we ordered!
The shop owner said she'll contact the suppliers but thinks they will say that it's colour tolerance!
This could be disastrous!
:(

I'm sure they'd still be willing to wear them though wouldn't they?

I don't like pink, far too girlie!!! But, if I was a BM and it was pink dress I'd wear it as that's what the bride wants. If you're happy with it so should they!! :-)
A pinky tinge is very different to actually being pink.
If the dresses are paid for and you don't mind it, then there isn't much you can do. With your flowers and everything else tying in the red people won't notice the pinky tinge that you see, especially as they'll be too busy looking at you!
The girls will understand that you ordered red, they are red not actually pink, and that there isn't anything you can do. I'm sure once they both see them they won't mind at all. x

I would normally avoid anything pinky as it doesn't go well with red hair. However as a bridesmaid I would wear it. At my brother's wedding I was initially going to be in red which also isn't good with auburn hair, but I would have done it gladly. As it happened I ended up in Champagne.

I was MOH at my friend's wedding, and I HATED the dress the others had picked! I wore it regardless, as it's what she wanted. I can't see it being too much of a problem if it's what they're going to have to wear. Don't panic just yet :)

tbh, if they complained and refuse to wear them Id be furious with them

I'm sure your bm's can deal with it for one day if it makes you happy. Have you considered possibly getting them professionally dyed xx

I spoke to my sister last night. She's not too bad, we'll wait to see what she thinks when she actually sees the dresses. She said that if I'm happy with it she'll wear it. She did say she's more worried about my best mate as she thinks she is more fussy so may not be happy but we'll have to wait and see what she says/thinks when they see the dresses in the shop. I'm really hoping the next time I see them I see them more as red than with the pink tinge to it.
It's the whole dress, there is no sash on the BM dresses, only the FG dress.

I hope it all goes well for you when they see them. But tbh you've done everything you can to get them something they'll be happy and comfortable in, this was outside your control. I'm sure they'll appreciate all your effort to do that and be happy regardless. Sounds like your sister is on board already, so fingers crossed it'll all go smoothly. Like you say it might seem more red when you next see it, you may have just noticed it more to start with because you were surprised and had an image in your mind of what it should be.

Thanks hun, I can only hope. It won't be the end of the world but my sister think we are just jinxed with BM dress colours after her BM dress disaster at her wedding!
