I am STILL looking for a replacement florist after the one I spent 6 months finding went bust (D'Oh!) but have ordered my poppies today. I already have purple poppies but decided to have ALL the button holes as poppies. I did look on the British Legion website to see if they do 'posh poppies' but couldn't see what I was looking for so I'm having them made instead.
Everything else we have is either ivory or grey so the flowers are going to be brightly coloured and the accessories will work around them. I'm thinking that the male attendants will have the purple poppies and everyone else can have red. There will be a few of both colour in my bouquet with whatever other flowers we choose. (Purple poppies are for the animals that died at war.)
What do you think?

Getting married on Armistice day I thought it would be rude not to.
We're going to make sure that there are Legion poppies available to buy at the venue too.
If you get stuck for supplies then ask Croc as she is setting up doing flowers and has some wholesale contacts. She might be able to get things cheaper for you even if you make them yourself.

Love the poppies idea! x

Where are you getting your poppies made? I really want some in my boquet but know the petals drop from real ones really easily, I'm having a country theme and I want meadow flowers.

Thats a great idea. we are giving the poppy brooches to the men as favours and cancer research angels to the women.
