I don't know if any1 remembers the lovely poem (that i stole sorry) a few weeks ago for the bride to give to the mother of the groom a few weeks ago. It was lovely and very moving. Anyway i showed it to my h2b and he suggested that we should read it out r put it on her thank you card. Well i don't want my mum left out, so any suggestions....

Mum Through the years you've been there for all my ups and downs, from friendships, boys and homework to finding wedding gowns.
I want so much to thank you for all you've given me Your care and love and wisdom and the lasting memories
For even though I'm now grown up dressed in silk and pearls remember this my wedding day I'm still your little girl
I love you Mum
xx

Got one for FOB too:
To My Dad On My Wedding Day
Though you have given me your blessing I think you will understand Why I look at you so tenderly As I reach to take his hand A wedding is a joyful time When two hearts unite Yet it is time to think about The years that have gone by My memories are special gifts Their worth cannot be measured The loving home you made for me My heart will always treasure And though I am very happy As I make this brand new start The love I feel for you Is forever in my heart
No worries hun I had them saved on my PC cos I'm gonna use them too :) The dad one makes my cry whenever I read it just hope I'm not blubbing b4 I'm even in my dress on the day lol x

You are the mother I will receive The day I wed your son. And i just want to thank you, mum For all the things you have done.
Youv'e given me a gracious man With whom i share my life. You are his loving mother and I his lucky wife.
You used to pat his little head And now i hold his hand. You raised in love a little boy And give to me a man.

Poem for My Father In Law
When I married I got a new dad, A special father in law; That made me very happy, And a little bit in awe.
You're a man who cares, With an understanding heart. You're also filled with wisdom; No wonder my spouse is smart!
Thanks for being so cordial; Thanks for welcoming me; It feels really good to be part Of your special family.

Dee that actually really made me cry. I am dreading my mum not being there on my big day, it is the one thing that has always put me off getting married. She passed away when i was 8, so its not like i havent had time, its just an idea i will never get used to. That poem is beautiful!
