I want to suprise my h2b on our wedding day but im seriously lacking in ideas...........
So for me walking down the aisle I have jokingly told my h2b that the music will be One Direction "little things" as i know he HATES One Direction with a passion, but im going to stay adament that it will be.....
However I dont want that as my song. What I want is a song that he loves and he will be suprised its playing....
So clues for picking the song are:
- He likes the following bands - Stone Roses, Keane, Flo Rida, Stereophonics, Oasis,IT Man Browns other band, Beady Eye, Doves, Snow Patrol, Muse - that kind of music (ive literally just stole his phone to look through his play list ha)
- It cant have any religious content in it and I have to be able to walk along to it.
I have NO clue of this music genre my likes are One Direction, The Wanted etc ha! SO I NEED UR HELP PLEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE xx

The problem with these groups is the fact that the lyrics are mostly "From the man's point of view" take for example Oasis Songbird, its very much "Im a man and this is how I feel about her". They are very male orientated lyrics.
I don't think you want that as this song should be from you to him, so I would suggest maybe looking further into his musical taste. Are there any songs in there that could be meaningful from a woman to a man? The song does not have to be sung by a female, it could be a man singing or a duet or a woman but it just has to have that flexibility (well for me anyway)
My suggestions would be an acoustic version of "Stand by me" you know the one with the lyrics- no I won't be afraid, no I won't shed a tear, just as long as you stand, stand by me. There are loads of songs like this where you can play acoustic versions instead of original versions (check out acoustic versions of songs on YouTube) its obvious from the groups you mention he likes guitar kind of stuff.

also, don't get too hung up on the religious stuff ... we had a civil ceremony and were allowed Aretha Franklin's Say A Little Prayer and also Free Falling by Tom Petty whih has the words "loves Jesus" in it.

Muse's version of Feeling Good is amazing. I doubt he'd remotely like the Buble one if he's into the likes you mentioned above, so I wouldnt touch that with a barge pole. I belong to you is a good one by Muse, however, it is associated with Twilight, so not sure how he'd/you'd feel about that! Oasis' Wonderwall is an obvious one. There's a few snow patrol ones, if you youtube 'Run live at union chapel', it is the best version of their song I have ever heard and is still a contender for our first dance as well.
Id assume he is into James as well, seeing as that fits right in with that genre. The song 'five O' by them is my absolutely favourite one and it mentions actually getting married in there.

I always loved the song Tender by Blur and they were a similar sounding group like Oasis etc, but it does have the word "Lord" in it. I don't see why you are so opposed to having songs that contain a very small reference to religion, as they aren't religious songs (far from it lol as Blur, Oasis etc were I believe on drugs when writing them). I don't think anyone would notice one mention of god or lord etc.

Sorry hun I aint got a clue as I have left my H2B pick all our music as well as being soppy he loves music.
He chose Eva Casidy, Song Bird for me to walkdown the isle. Hopeless romantic when he comes to music, gifts he is shit at lol. Apart from this christmas - he has listened for a change, i found the receipt in out joint sock draw.

Personally I would go for a more obscure song - chasing cars is quite common at weddings and he might not realise that you've really tout about it, if you know what a mean.
I'll be 36, registrars won't allow music with religious references as part of a marriage ceromony, although some are more stricter than others xx

Ten storey love songs and Doves spellbound are songs that are both sung from a man's point of view if you read the lyrics carefully. For example in Doves Spellbound "She keeps me here so spellbound" and that makes it seem like he has chosen the song for her yet its the other way round.

There are loads of songs by these bands that don't have she in the lyrics absolutely loads. I know I would find it strange if a bride picked a song for him which was clearly written for a female. Words like We in the lyrics or you instead of she and her is much better coming from her.

Have a look at a group called firehouse the song called When i look into your eyes, we are having it as our first dance song, the group is rock/metal but this is one of their ballads its truly beautiful xx
