Just wondering if anyone here had or going to have succulents as wedding favours. If so how much do they cost? My cousin got married last year in Seattle and they had succulents/jade plants as wedding favours (and part of table deco). Thanks!

This is a super idea and something we might go for! Could always grow them yourself from seeds or cuttings to if you have the time/space.
If buying I suggest finding your local horticulture market, getting up supersonically early and heading down there, you buy I'm bulk dirt cheap so will undoubtedly have a few left you can plant too as a lasting memory :)

Thanks Jem! I haven't thought of the horticultural market - only thought of looking/buying ones that are already planted, which of course could be more in price. Saw in pinterest some ideas with cards saying "let love grow" or "plant a tree/seed and watch our love grow. Reminds me of the love (fern) plant in the movie How to lose a guy in 10 days. :)

What a lovely idea. If it's too expensive or too much work if DIY then seeds would be nice x

succulents have been really popular for weddings and my florist suggested it but its not for me, im having heathers as my centerpieces thought, try your local diy stores as they might be slightly cheaper, think they about £1 -£1.50 each

It's a fantastic idea. Do you have long enough to buy the seeds and grow them in little pots yourself?x

I think it's a good idea, something a little different. I think I would probably grow them myself, or give the seed in those cute little packets you can get with your names/date on.

H2B's Cousin had plants as centrepieces at her wedding and gave them out as presents to Aunties, Godparents etc. Everyone else had a bulb in a mini plant pot

Defo a lovely idea :) A friend of mine gave lavender plants and we planted it and still love seeing it in the garden :) Check out garden centres and if they have membership clubs to join as they normally have vouchers off or freebies :)

I think I can grow them - plant the seeds in April and fingers crossed would be ready by July. Heathers are nice too, they look small bells before they bloom.
