my bf is getting married next year and i am one of her bm's. they was originally getting married here in a hotel, this has recently gone into admin which was a shocker cus its a fantastic place that seems to do really good business. anyway they have just come back from a big family holiday in zante and her dad gave her all this info he got while they were there and said he will pay for the lot if they book their wedding there. well what an offer f=to have from your dad, so of course they have gone for it and im really really happy for them. however, with me being bank n not earnign at mo with being pregnant, getting back to work late november at earliest and havin another kiddie to pay for im really worried i wont be able to be there for her purely due to not being sure if we can afford to pay for flights n accomadation to get out there, plus we need passports which works out another couple of hundred ontop plus not being sure if we'd be able to get my eldest out of school without getting fined to go!

i really dont want to miss this day, and i dont want to let her down though im sure she would understand if we just cant get the money together. but im just really worried about it all now n not sure what to do to get some extra money together. feeling quite upset about it =( xxx

Speak to her about it an explain the situation, if she's no longer having to pay for the wedding then she may offer to cover your flights. The if you only went for 3-4 days and tried to find cheapish accommodation.

Also, is it possible that you can leave the children with relatives here, it will save cost and mean that they can stay in school (not being a parent, I'm not sure how feasible this is practically and emotionally!).

my daughter will be 6 by then and i already dont like the head who we would have to ask the permission of to take her out of school. we could ask if anyone could look after kids but we will ahve three by then, 6yrs, 3yrs and 5 months. but your right its the emotional side of it too. i could handle leaving my eldest two but im not sure about a baby. i've never gone more than a day without my children so i dont know how that would feel. having said that we are having a minimoon, three days in edinburgh after the wedding without these two so that will be experience. see at the moment im not actually bringing any money into the house and all my oh wages are being stretched as much as possible to cover anything. i dont qualify for maternity pay with me being contracted to 0 hours. so we cant put any money away until i can get back to work. the other thing is i dont know how much work i will get when i go back as they have taken on more bank staff and we no longer get the a+e support shifts cus a private firm has now got them as part of their contract with the a+e side of place. basically its all a big question mark at the moment as regards to income and what we will be able to afford. i have just heard that one or more full time positions may be coming up so fingers crossed thats not till after ive had baby so i can get a chance of applying for that cus thats our security right there and i would hate to miss out on the chance of applying cus of being pregnant xx
