    Evening ladies,

I never thought of this before but recently this came to my mind: ladies who already had a hair trial - did you show your h2bs?
I want my hair trial to show me if the style lasts a whole day but then it's hard to keep this from h2b. Unless I schedule it on a day when he works the whole night - that might be an idea.

The hair style I am going for won't surprise h2b but I wear my hair in many different ways and don't want to give away how it's going to be on the day.

    How did you do this?

i haven't done this already so can't offer you proper advice all i can say is judging by my h2b's total inability to notice when i get my hair done normally, i wouldn't worry - he'll probably have forgotten by the wedding day even if he does see it! and if he doesn't forget and notices and admires it after your trial then lucky you! ;)

If you want to go all out on the surprise for him then I'd plan it for a work night!

Getting childcare to be able to have the trial would come to his attention and then he would take an extra look and remember. But the idea is good I might just not tell him what's going on and I doubt he'll fully notice if I have done my hair myself or my friend.

Now this is one brilliant idea. Stroke of genius. She does work shops to teach others and I occassionally model for her for other things. I think that's it!

My lady said if I booked the trial on a Saturday etc, she could change the day makeup to something more like a night out after I'd seen it, so if she does this and then takes my wedding hair pins out etc it should just look like I'm getting glammed up for the evening when I get back!

That's also a good idea. I will obviously also take off the head piece :-) I don't think I'll have a make-up trial at the same time - maybe, maybe not. I am not going to look totally different to usual. So could blame more eye liner also on her work shop :-))

I worry about this too! Especially as I need to see if it holds all day.

Maybe I will have to plan a whole day "out" with friends.

Make up is also a bother, I don't want him to see as I want to wow him on the day - might have to take it off straight after :( but then I won't know if it stays all day.

    Here comes the bride......

My Mum kept hers a surprise but she took hers out before meeting H2B that night, and she had her hair done in a way that it was two styles, one for the day and a more relaxed look for the evening but both looked great!
I'm gonna arrange to have mine done at my friends house and we are having a girly day so the OH won't see it that way I can keep it in for a good 6 hours without him seeing it, but I will remove it then either that or follow soon to be mrs mann's idea and have it the same time as hen as we are going away he won't know any different.

Thats a thought, I never realised that H2B might see hair/makeup! Come to think of it he will be away until the end of Feb possibly so I'll arrange my hair trial while he is still deployed which is a bout 6 weeks before the big day.

I'm gonna get mine done while he is away on his stag do. I may end up going home all glammed up and end up doing the ironing or something (may throw wearing my shoes in around the house for good measure) but at least then he won't see and I can see if it holds all day xx

zowie thats an excellent idea! I think I'll do that - Adam is going on his stag while I'm on easter hols from school so that would be perfect for me! Am considering having my hen party while he's on his stag too so I could actually make use of the nice hairstyle and wear it out :o)

I had mine done the day before, when we were in Vegas and he was off on his Stag do! But I wouldn't have wanted his to see it beforehand. He definitely would have guessed that it was 'wedding hair' as I never have my hair like that usually. x

wow terri, he guessed what it would look like! that's really impressive :) was talking about hair etc with h2b last night as will be getting it done for his sister's wedding this summer, am bridesmaid, and he was like, oh, do you all go and get your hair cut the day before the wedding?! um, yeah....

My H2B has been asking about hair styles for him for the wedding, as he read somewhere he's supposed to choose a style and have trials before the day - I did ask if he'd read that about the groom and not the bride, but he's adamant it was relevant to the groom!!

That's the thing, it's not long at all, kind of like a school boy really - he's already saying he's worried about styling as he hates having any product in his hair and doesn't even own a comb! So all this talk of getting a special hair cut for the wedding is totally baffling to me! LOL

my h2b wanted to grow his hair long for the wedding, which would be fine if he wasn't going bald - I just envisage a comb-over look! So now he's threatening to shave it off.

I don't want anything done to my hair, I wear it down and straight every day, and have done since leaving school. It would feel weird to have any kind of up do. I can't have it curled as I look really young as it is, with it curled I look like a child playing dress up. Hhm, I shall have to have a play I think.
