Hello, we’ve decided we want to get married abroad and so far the favourite destination is looking like Rhodes, Greece. I’ve looked at some brochures from travel agents but if I was to try to book it myself and find a wedding planner directly etc, how do I go about this? Anyone know how to find a wedding planner in Rhodes? Lol! I don’t know where to start.
Also has anyone used the Perfect Weddings Abroad website? Thanks xx

Google wedding planners in Rhodes.
I'm getting married in Kos, I'm using a wedding planner and have booked the ceremony/reception venue direct with the owner.

hey rachymoo, im also looking at rhodes. ive spent the last 2 weeks investigating and have not come to any conclusions on the best way to do it. Have you decided on where you will get married? i like the look of kalathea springs but then unsure of where to hold reception after, was looking at villa di mare who i have emailed..looks expensive though! its all soo confusing!

Hi,
I'm planning on getting married in 2014 (I know it's a long way away but I'm just too excited) and my friend has recomended a company called Ionian Weddings. They're based in the UK which is great for me as I really want to speak to someone face to face about what I want for my big day. I've been looking on their website and they've got brilliant reviews, packages with prices and best of they're ABTA covered! I'm looking at Zante and Cyprus at the moment (can't decide) but I know they do weddings on the other islands, including Rhodes!
Good luck! xx

Hi I am getting married at Kalithea springs June next year. Only just booked it with Thomson but went to a wedding last year in Cyprus arranged by Thomsons & it was really good.
Thanks for the replies. I have now had a company recommended to me called Lindos Weddings, they are based in Rhodes, I've heard really good things and I've had a look on their Facebook group, there's some very happy brides on there and some gorgeous pics.
The only thing that concerns me with booking with a wedding planner directly is, are you covered if anything goes wrong? I.e. if I booked with Thomas Cook or Thomson etc then they are ABTA/ATOL protected or whatever it's called. Say you booked directly with a wedding planner instead and then they went bust (or something else went wrong) would that be it, all your money gone? I am such a worrier lol!

Hi Rachymoo saw this in another post too but thought i would plonk it in here! We were told by Thomson that we wouldn't be covered by anoybody else like they cover you :S different companies might do different things but we personally didn't want to take the risk, incase we were abroad and the wedding was cancelled and we lost money etc!

Wedding insurance should cover anything going wrong, I assume so anyway!
I got married abroad nearly two months ago & found a lovely wedding planner online, I know its a scarey thought but I definatly reccomend booking your wedding direct rather than using a travel agent, its sooo much cheaper!!
I've also heard a lot of problems with people booking their wedding through travel agents.
Good luck in your search, if you need any help/advice pm me xx
