Just wondering when I should be expecting to get our plane tickets? Jetting off on honeymoon on 2nd May, couple of days after the wedding. How soon do they send them out? Been so long since I've been abroad I cant remember! Want to book the long stay car parking at the airport and darent until I get the exact flight times. Learnt a few weeks ago our flights have been altered already, flying from Bristol to Malta... via CARDIFF! Different! And how long do you have to be there before the flight to check in etc, I know all the details will be on the tickets but would be nice to know! x (I know, I know... ring the travel agent....!)

Most say arrive 2 hours before to check in as for the tickets id say about a week before but yep ring the travel agent to rest your mind hehehe

i think you should recieve them about 2 weeks before you go. you could always double check with your travel agent.
it depends where you are going to as to when to check in. they normally say europe is min 2 hours before and most other places is 3 hours before you are due to depart xx
I had a email from Thomsons (who we are going on holiday with in June) and they advised that the tickets are sent 2 weeks before your departure date...so you should receive them any time soon hun xx

we picked picked out tickets up last sat and we go a week on thursday, if you have booked through a travel agents they will have them there for u to go in and pick up. x

H2B went into town today and came back with a smiley face and presented me with our tickets!!! So excited! All seems more real now! Got free harbour cruise tickets as well and free entry pass to an attraction of our choice with a list to choose from, couldnt decide between two of them so we will do both and pay for the other one! Will have to start thinking about packing soon now!!!! xxxx (only down side is our flight back is early, meaning we have to check in at 5am at the airport!)

Usually tickets arrive 10 days to 3 weeks before departure; if it gets to 2 weeks, I would call and ask where they are.
Check-in opens 3 hours before, please do not try to cut it fine, and allow for parking, traffic, etc. I flew twice last year, and the first time we had a 1 hour queue at security, the second time we had a 1 hour queue to check-in, and another 45 minute queue to get through security; had we got there 2 hours before, our flight would have boarded by the time we got through and we could have missed it.
I live 40 mins from Gatwick, and when flying from there I always leave about 4 hours before our flight departure time. I would much sooner hang around for 2 hours than get stuck in traffic/face massive queues, and miss my flight. You can book a VIP lounge for about £17 pp which includes unlimited drinks and snacks if you're worried about hanging about in the airport lounge

Sounds like a lot of grief. We just got back from malta as our pre honeymoon, we flew heathrow to malta and malta to gatwick with air malta. Check in was 2 hours before departure time. We didnt get tickets did it all online and printed the itinery email and got our tickets / boarding passes when we checked in. Check with your airline / travel agent as different companies do things differently and even luggage allowance rules vary hugely.

we norm book our holiday slast thing so to cape verde we picked them up form desk at airport!
