Ok I would love to invite anyone to the meal but we're not millionaires (YET) however we can invite anyone to the night time so I decided....
Anyone to the church and the night time
Close friends & family all day
Would you be offended if you got invite with the church and the night time do knowing they we're having a reception?
See I thought people would be a bit miffed if they new this as its "close families & family"

I wouldn't be offended.
We are wording the invites to the evening reception, then putting when the church service is in the additional info.

I think this is ok if people are not travelling a long way as they would have to find something to do with themselves in between but if people can go home I think it is fine! xx

Yeah I agree, if they are not travelling then it's fine, But if someone's travelling far, then it would be fair for you to ask them to the meal too.. Or just to the evening and not the church x

Thats what we are doing too, i don't want to offend anyone either. But money is tight and it just can't be done. Family and close friends only.
My friends have done it, i wasn't offended :)

I would only be offended if I classed myself as a 'close family member or friend' ..otherwise I would just go with the choice of the B&G ...just as guests will have too at my Wedding!

I wouldn't be offended but if you're thinking of having the ceremony, then reception then the night time won't they be hanging around for a while? x

None of them live a million miles away infact most of them live not even half hour away I just thought the whole thing of the day is to see us getting married in the church not the alcohol big fancy meal ect they'd go home after the church if thats what you mean I'm just going to put in a little note saying budgets tight ect but if you want to see us gettiing married then the details x

I think it's a great idea. I'm in the same boat (the non millionaire boat) and need to keep numbers down for the breakfast. My only trouble is that my H2B's friends and family will be travelling to Scotland from Devon (over 500 miles) but I am still only inviting close family all day. My only saving grace for this is that I am planning on getting married very near to Edinburgh so the group can spend the day seeing the sights. I hope it works out. x

..also, I think if you invite some folk to wedding then evening do..you may find they choose one bit or the other..probably the evening do. so, you may end up with less folk at one part of the day...
