    Hi all,

I have done something a bit stupid. I missed my pill last night and it was the last of my active ones which normally means that I just skip the inactive ones and start a new pack, however this happened last month too so is it ok to do it again? also if I do this it will mean that I come on half way through my honeymoon, which I really don't want to do so ideally I would skip the inactive pills again when I am away but is it safe to do this?

With it being bank holiday I can't ask the doctor so I don't know. Please help.

Well mine arent the same as your but I'm on one where I take them for 3 weeks and then have a week break. The doctor told me that its quite safe to take up to 3 packs back to back without a break (its in the week break that I usually come on) so i wouldn't worry too much xx

My doctor once said to me that if he was a lady, he would run the pills together for a bit longer to avoid having a period on holiday. I got the impression that it wasn't a big deal even for 2-3 months of no periods. He pointed out that periods on the pill are not true periods, more a 'withdrawal bleed'. I know also that some people on implants or the depot injection are being given constant hormones which often result in no period for months at a time. But, you have to realise that we are not trained doctors, so you really are better off calling NHS Direct just to be sure - you can find them online too I think.

it will probs be ok, my midwife told me after i had 2nd child to get a merina coil which could stop periods all together as ideally women arent meant to have peroids every month, hence why there were such big families decades ago :D

I went from the age of 15 to a year ago without having periods as I was on the injections and then the implants. I loved it and as soon as I came off them my periods started back up as normal. Obviously I don't know yet if I can have kids or not as I haven't tried for any but so far things are working like they should do.

I'm not sure about that pill as I've never been on anything like that so would say the best thing to do is ask your doctor. As long as you are protected from getting pregnant (use condoms if you are not sure) then I would doubt it would cause major harm or it would state in the packaging.
