I have Bridesmaids but they are both children (my nieces) so I can't use them (though I think legally I can but it would be odd) The man is using his Bestman - who is his brother
I have no idea who to use
Go with Victorian tradition and my dad ? (I'm not being given away or walked down the aisle) My Mam? My Sister? (I wouldn't want to use my Brother) I have 2 closest friends so couldn't pick between them
Any ideas?

Legally your wintesses must be 18 or over. You can have anyone you like as your witnesses. As your h2b is having his brother is might be nice for you to have your sister xx

@MelN - Actually there is no minimum age in law just to be able to know what they are doing. (But some areas have their own policy) but legally there is no age requirement
CommentAuthorMel D
fair enough - our registrars said that they had to be over 18

i decided to not choose a family member i have my brothers and sisters children and nephew as ushers,bm's,fg's etc so the are all happy and dont want anyone in my family to think oh well why wasnt i chosen so we opted for lifelong friend of the family and her husband on my side and the same on h2b's side. which everyone is thrilled with and has taken away any potential issues plus means some very important people in our lives get a part in our day also.
One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!
We're having our best man and moh. If your h2b is having his brother, I think it would be nice to have your sister. But you can have anyone so it's completely up to you
The greatest thing you'll ever learn
is just to love and be loved in return

@PGMCJ - I contacted the registry office because H2B's eldest will be 16 by time we get married and they told me the legal age is 16.. That someone under the age of 16 would not be allowed to do it under any circumstances...
We're having my brother and H2B's eldest.. I'd probably say your sister as well..You can have up to 4 though, so if you wanted your 2 best friends, then H2B could just choose a 2nd person too xxx
I can't wait to become his Wife :-) <3

@Georgi Wouldn't matter anyway as the eldest BM is 10. But really there is no law - just places can have their own rules
I really don't want 4 - No idea why but I just don't

We're having our mums as witnesses

PGMCJ you are right, there is no legal limit laid down to say how old someone has to be to be a witness, but each place has their rules as to what age they need to be. xxx

We're having moh and best man.... It's true what u say tho my friend had her 12yr old daughter as witness when she married her daughters stepdad...he was like a father figure to her so it was a nice way of involving her x

we are having my sister and h2b's brother so they still feel apart of the wedding as not bridesmaid or best man. x

No idea who H2B will choose.
