    Hello everyone!
I am looking for a photographer for my wedding that is planned for April 2016. There are a couple of photographers whose style and work is fantastic and meets all my requirements. Unfortunately, they are a little bit too pricey.
I am wondering whether the quote that photographers give is 100% set price? Can it be negotiated and reduced? I will highly appreciate if you can share your experiences with me.

They do tend to be a little negotiable. As our ceremony isn't until 3pm, ours reduced the full day cost to the equivalent of the half day cost as he is not arriving until 1pm to capture the end of bridal prep, and set up etc.

Depending on what you want they are normally quite good. We have opted just to have 10 of our favorite photos from the day printed by our photographer, the rest will be given to us on a disk and there is also an online page our guests can access, that has saved over £300! x

You won't lose anything by speaking to them and seeing if they can reduce the cost, it all depends on what you want as well... such as if you don't want them for as long as what they class as a full day, or if you don't want all the added extra's like prints ect. they throw in.

Don't be scared to negotiate. The price they give is probably their top top price.. some people don't negotiate so they would end up making a lot of profit. Prices for weddings automatically seem to go up anyway.. I would definitely try and get yourself a deal x

I don't negotiate prices, but I do make allowances for example if I know someone really is in a budget generally I'll help them out A little. I offer couples a photo only package or cheaper album options. depends what you are after. There is no harm asking but I would offer a later start or earlier finish to compensate the price.
might also add that the pricey photographers are usually worth it and some won't come down on price for a booking a year and a half away as they are already discounted considering prices do usually go up. If that makes sense.
don't settle though if you can help it, half a day with someone amazing will always beat a full day with someone average. good luck x
