Has anyone ever just hired a photographer to take pictures and not edit them/put them on a dvd etc? Would a photographer do that? just give you their photo's?
My auntie and cousin both work for the same wedding photography company 1 as a photographer, the other is a picture editor but neither are in the country on my big day. My cousin has offered to edit any photos taken so im thinking I could save money by just asking someone to take some?

I use to know a photograpgher that would give you the pictures however you like tehm (some people like them uneditied etc) but they did then charge you to have the copy right etc so that allowed you to do what ever and this can be there way of charging you what they like and getting the money instead so just be careful x

our photographer edits some of them but puts everything on a dvd both the raw files and the edited ones

i interviewed only the photographers who put them on a disc so you could do whatever with them. they were cheaper too. you need to look for the ones that give the copyright package :) then if we want to buy an albulm you can go back to them anytime or go somewhere else.

hmmm cheeky bisoms huh.
i was thinking i might post of our local FB page for a photographer for say 6 hours and ask for a price and see what people say, then when they have replied drop in the Wedding word and see how much they change things by.
I def want me cousin to do all the editting. we are putting disposables on the tables and will send her those and any other photos taken for her to tweak about with x
You can usually have disk only packages (in cyprus all the photographers ive enquired with have this option) Some of them just provide a disk of all images and some of them edit the images on the disk so its upto you to do what you want with them (create own storybooks online etc)
Its costing me 800euros for a disk only package but that will include sunset shots etc too and they will all be edited (black and white/sepia etc) so they wont need editing and I can make my own storybook when every Ive got money nice and easy with perfect pictures :-)

My friend is a photographer and he had a guy take the shots then edited them himself. So, yes, it is possible.

Im hoping to get this photographer in Liverpool, £550 coverage from bridal prep to first dance, all photos on a disc with copyright too. Waiting for my dad to hurry up and tell me he is free though so we can go and book him!
