Hi everyone, just a quick question. We booked our photographer back in October last year and paid the deposit and sent an electronic copy of the contract.
I have now got the details of where I will be staying the night before and getting ready in the morning so I have updated the contract and want to send it to her.
Therefore, I wrote her an email also asking for details of our pre-wedding shoot as she advised when we booked her that she was shooting a wedding in Cornwall the weekend before and that if we could get down there, she could do our pre-wedding shoot on the Sunday before our wedding. We love this idea as our theme is Cornish seaside. Now, I emailed her last Tuesday and I haven't heard anything. My question to you lovely ladies is..how long do I wait before sending a chaser! I'm not panic'ing too much at the moment but I don't want to book a hotel in Cornwall until she's confirm it is all ok.
Cheers!

If it was me I would chase her now.. she has had over a week to respond to you which I think is ample time. It may be that she is currently on holiday or away and cannot respond to her emails, but I'm sure she would still understand why you are chasing her. I'd give her another week to respond to your second email, then if you still don't hear anything, give her a ring.

Exactly the same as Flossie. One more email now and start with the phone calls. I would expect any supplier to reply within 2-3 days. We are paying them a lot of money so I am more than happy to chase hard.
Like Flossie says there may be a valid reason why she hasn't replied. Is she on bookface? I know a few business post on there when they will be out of work for holidays / bereavement etc so maybe worth a check beforehand

Yes definitely chase her . our SLA at work is 2hours, we would be shot if we took over a week to get back to people. I know it's a totally different field but if it's someone running their own business you would think they'd need to keep a good rapport up.
On the other hand could you not just boom a refundable rate and cancel if you can't go? Or use it as a nice break away?

Thanks all, looking back it was last Thursday I emailed, not Tuesday. So I'll give her until tomorrow then chase.
We could do that Steph though not sure whether it was a non refundable rate h2b found so I'll ask him later! If it wasn't the week before the wedding we probably would but not sure going all that way without a purpose week be a good idea! It's a good eight hours each way!!
I would be emailing every week until she replies to be honest. You don't want to leave it too close to the day.

Had a response from the photographer and glad I checked as we had the wrong week!! She's down in Cornwall the second weekend and now also the first weekend of June and we thought it was the third weekend!
Absolutely gutted as we are busy the first two weeks of June so no pre trip to Cornwall for us

Glad you got a response Vikki. On the bright side at least you don't have to spend the money on travel and hotel so you can use that elsewhere. Maybe get yourselves a treat anyway :)

Exactly! After the initial "gutted" feeling, she's happy to go up to Yorkshire for our pre-wedding photoshoot. So we're going back to where my OH proposed and staying the weekend at our usual place on the Moors. The plus is that there is no signal up there so it'll be a nice get away!
