Hi, I'm going to have photo booth area at my wedding party!!!
There was area next to the bar that the hotel said they usually shove a load of toys in for the kids, but i thought much better to use it as a photo booth area! only having a small wedding and many of the kids that are going to be there are little girls that love dressing up so it will keep them occupied as well as the grown ups!!! I'm going to paint a large canvas as a background, put up a bit of extra lighting and a huge box of props (we've already started collecting bits and pieces for this)... however the camera part is going to be a bit of an issue.
we were thinking of putting a few old fashioned polaroid cameras that print out the image there and then, i've seen there are digital equivalents for this, but too expensive as far as i can see. guests will obviously have their own cameras and there will be a few disposable cameras floating around as well as the photographer.
I am looking for a remote trigger for a digital camera, do they even exist? so we can leave the camera fixed on a tripod and then all the guests have to do is pose and press the button on the remote. i can't find one suitable.
has anyone done the photo booth thing themselves and what was the best way of doing it?

Thought about hiring/borrowing or buying a photo printer?

Most people have digital cameras and I read somewhere that you could hire the printers which take all sorts of memory cards. Then you could have a photo album next to it for people to place their pics with a space for them to leave you a message! Sorry to gabble, it's what I wanted to do but budget won't allow it! x

oooh now that's a really good idea thanks, had a quick look on amazon and looks like we could pick one up quite cheaply, and reckon i could buy it as a birthday present for H2B (he loves his gadgets) so double whammy!!!

We've got a Polaroid Pogo Printer and paper... saw it in use at a friend's wedding and they are fab. You can get them on bay of e relatively cheap second hand which we did, and the paper it prints out on is sticky so you can stick them in guest books (which we are) or anything really...xx

My friend got married in December and it was a very small do. Her friend got a polaroid camera and as the events went on, we were all encouraged to snapaway. She'd hung buntin in the restaurant with teeny pegs on it so we could peg them on that and wait for the to be developed. It was so, so lovely.
