I am so upset. I got a call from my solicitor this morning. My ex won't sign the consent order. Basically I've given him the business, allowed him to stay in our family home (which was in my name) and now he's trying to say I have to pay the loan his parents gave us to buy the business he still has or else they're suing me for the equity in my house. I know him far too well and I know that he's not forfeiting his half of the equity that I'd agreed to - his parents are going to sue me to get it all and give it all back to him.
I lived 17 years with that man. He made me work between 50 and 70 hours a week and look after the home and family with no help from him. He made sure i only had enough money to pay the bills and I was eventually diagnosed with a form of bi-polar. Only when I started psychotherapy they discovered it wasn't bi-polar. I had stress and anxiety disorder caused by our stressful lives. He wouldn't believe it and I took 4 years, but plucked up the courage to leave him.
I met my h2b almost as soon as I told my ex I was leaving, so naturally that's what he's told everyone including our children - infact it grew from an affair with my h2b to having had at least 7 affairs!!!
So not only am I now being sued and cannot lay the division of assets to rest, he hasn't applied for the absolute. My solicitor has just told me it's expensive, involves gathering evidence about why he should have applied but hasn't and will involve a hearing. I have no money left for solicitors, even tho I could start applying myself on the 30th July.
So we have no choice but to put our wedding on hold, indefinitely.
I never hated my ex, I just needed to not be with with. Now I hate him and all I want to do is cry. I pray all you lovely first timers are getting it right. Please be sure.

aww hun im so sorry how long you been seperated hun? cause after so long you can do it without him needing to do anything its either 2 or 5 yrs i know this as i went through it when h2b was doing his divorce and she wouldnt sign paperwork, but its awful what he's doing and just not fair hugs hun xx

how can he be looking for more money is not just a straight split i wouldnt let him keep anything make him sell everything and pay you half maybe if he thinks you can play hardbal as well he might shut his nasty mouth failing that punch him lol xxxx

I do not have a clue what I'd do in your situation but I doubt it'd be legal regardless!!
Sounds like this horrible man is just wanting to cling onto power over you.

Then he took the car cos his mum told him to knowing I was in temp accomodation which was miles from my daughters school (2 buses) so it would be difficult fro me to get there with the twins in the pram x

My ex and I still aren't divorced after 6 yrs because he won't sign the papers. Hope you get everything sorted soon but in the meantime stay strong
