Hello Everyone HELP !! I am getting married next year. I am 5ft tall & really struggling to find any petite length dresses. Can anyone recommend a store or website that have a petite range...I cant find any. Im afraid if I have alterations it will spoil the look/style of the dress Thank you

Hi Hannah, I am getting married in 2018 and I am only 5ft myself I will be wearing heels on the day. My piece of advice would be not to worry about the length of the dress as they are altered so it won't spoil the look of the dress if done by a proper seamstress. Some bridal ranges do offer small lengths on the dresses.

Hi Hannah -
I am also only 5ft tall! I got married in June this year and selected a "normal" sized dress - as Stacey says, the seamstress will take it in and up for you to match your measurements. My only advice to you would be to avoid the ballgown style dresses as they will swamp your frame other than that you have as much choice as the next bride.
Hope that helps!

Depending on the detailing on the dress a good seamstress will be able to adjust the length of it. They should be able to help you in the shop when trying them on to say whether or not they think it will be suitable.
I'm 5' 1.5" (the half makes all the difference lol), I got a regular dress and it was altered and looked amazing xxx

I am 5ft 2 and I didn't even think about that aspect. Even if the dress has a pattern on the bottom they can re add that after taking it up, don't worry. x

I'm 4ft10, this never entered my mind! The dress will be altered so it's all good. The only thing I was told is certain dresses have to remain the length due to beading down the back etc. X

I am 5'1 and found the perfect dress in D#b##h@m5 it's a long dress and tight so not a big ball gown type dress. Just getting it a bit shortened and wearing heels with it and it's perfect :)

You should absolutely look into having your wedding dress made for you! I did! It cost me £1500 all in, which is nothing compared to what some shops were charging and it was custom made! I'm from Ediburgh, however I'm sure there are loads of dress makers across the country!

I'm 5'2'' and I just looked in the normal ranges. The samples are too long for most people, they're the length a process model would wear. A seamstress can alter it without changing the way it hangs, and without losing any detail at the bottom.

As everyone else above has mentioned most dresses are designed to be altered and will not lose any shape or beauty from the alteration process.
That said, this time I have opted for a gorgeous tea length dress with some beautiful heels so no worries about having it shorted :)
