We're buying our cake from a high street store/supermarket (the one with the green and white striped bags ;) and are in need of cake toppers. The ones I've found on the high street are a bit generic - h2b has long curly hair and glasses. I've been hunting online but they all seem to start at £140?! Am i being silly, or is that not a bit expensive? Has anyone got any advice or experience or is it a case of sucking it up, knuckling down and forking out!

If you search for resin cake toppers there are loads of people who make them to your specification and they cost about £40. I looked a while ago online and found quite a few cake makers/crafters do them. I am hoping to get some little sheep made!

Nini they sound adorable! Sylvanian Families do personal ones but not sure if they make sheep?! I'll google that, as I don't really want to pay £140! x

Bay of e has some nice cake toppers, if you dont find exactly what your looking for. Try cake shops and just tell them that you have your cake you just want to know how much it would be to have a personalised cake topper, im sure they wouldnt just turn you away as they would probably be hoping you come to them in the future! xxx

Am sure there's a few people on the bay who do personalised ones for about £40/£50
MrsClarke2B - thanks for the tip I shall go and have a look at Sylvanian Families now x

I have hunted on the internet too, tried all the places you guys suggested but still not found the cake topper I want for less than £140. Just incase anyone knows where to find it I want: Blonde groom sitting on the edge of cake fishing, brunette bride dragging him away.
I've seen the groom fishing (in brunette though and only as part of a pair) and I've seen brides dragging grooms but not in this manner.

we're getting one as a gift that's costing around £140. It's going to look fab, but to be honest if we were paying I wouldn't have spent that much. After seeing other work on the website I really can't wait to see ours :) x

if you want to make them really personal, why not make them yourself? Salt dough is easy to make, shape it into what you want, whatever size you want, bake then paint as you like :D
