Ours should be £70 per head for the day and £15 per head for the evening but we got them down to £56 per person for the daytime. That includes 3 course meal, two glasses of wine with dinner, canapes, tea, coffee, chocs, reception drink, evening buffet and then as part of the deal we get the accommodation for the night, flowers for the venue, red carpet, toastmaster etc.

We're paying £36 per head for the 3-course sit-down meal and £9.60 per head for the buffet. That doesn't include drinks, though, as we're buying wine ourselves and the venue agreed not to charge corkage as it's a local producer.

We're paying £280 for ice cream for up to 150 people instead of having canapes.

We have to pay a venue hire charge and sort out our own flowers etc, as we went for booking everything independently.

Ohhhhhh hunni, this can vary ALOT!
There are places that can charge anything between £10pp to £99 perhead for the meal alone then another £10-30 for the evening.
If your really stuck do what i did work out the amount of guests you want then the amount of money and what sort of thing you would like......for example im having 60 guests with a 3 course meal with our wedding cake as dessert then bacon rolls for 100 in the evening, and paying 3k for everything including room hire and hot chocolate as welcome drinks(think she said it works out at about £45 per head?).......then take this to the venue you like and see what they can do for you with your budget for the no of guests you have.

Don't take the price they give you as the price you pay. As you have just seen I managed to get mine down with a bit of negotiating.

Ours will work out at about £65 per head including all food and drinks with the meal. We have limited the amount of money we are paying out by having an evening wedding so we will only need to pay for a wedding breakfast and then we are having a table full of sweets later on - yummy!!

my venue is costing us £2586 and that includes, table linen, 3 courses for 70 people, flowers for the ceremony, toast master, getting married there, hotel room for the night, welcome drink for all the guests. we had to add wine on top of that which was £600.

that is only because they were doing an offer. normally the cheapest option is £75 a head

The buffet we are thinkin of having is £14 per person for the night but probably won't pay for every guest, the venue said we won't need to but I'm worried we will run out!!

    We are paying..

£11 per head for canapés on arrival
£42 per head for a 3 course meal and coffee and chocolates.
£25 per head for the drinks package which includes arrival drink, wine with the meal and champagne for the toast.
£18 Per head for evening buffet which includes 11 items BUT I am thinking about changing this to £5.45 per head which is a bacon butty and chips

It's probably far too much food but I'd rather have too much than not enough

    We're paying:

    £6 for 4 canapes
£50 for the meal (starter and dessert served to the table; buffet main course so guests have choice) exc water and drinks
£15 a head for a selection of 5 items for the evening buffet

Drinks are costing £36.50 a head for 2 glasses of Buck's Fizz, 1/2 a bottle of wine, and a glass of champagne for the toast. We're the putting money behind the bar for the evening reception.

Venues vary massively, though most we looked at were around the same cost.

I'm not really sure at the moment Becky, I haven't picked them but they do them in packages and it was the middle package so I could have cheaper if I wanted.

Drink's package is pretty good compared to some I have seen and it's good quality alcohol! And the welcome drinks are winter pimms, mulled wine or buck's fizz so I think it's a tad dearer because you have more choice.

We're having 110 for the day and 165 for the evening

£18 per head for the buffet to include three choices each of starter, mains and desserts. All quality local ingredients where at all possible.

£5.50 per head for evening hog roast with apple sauce, rolls, salad etc.

This does not include any drinks, which my future FiL is paying for. He has had a huge order of red wine, white wine, champagne and they are also paying for a barrel of real ale, some soft drinks and the hors d'oevres with the welcome drinks (buck's fizz). Corkage for wine and champers is £4.50 per bottle, again FiL is paying.

We might also make elderflower champagne - which we will not be charged corkage for!

There are a huge variety of choices out there and you can pretty much spend what you like depending on taste, much like with restaurants.

Also much like restaurants what you pay isn't a guarantee of the quality you'll get, so do your research well.
