So I pretty much now have my numbers for our party. We have 130 people coming that we need to cater for, including veggie. Originally we thought to have a hotpot with bread and red cabbage and a few sandwiches, crisps, dips, salad and sausage rolls. However we have now got the list for C05tc0 catering -it looks delish and better prices than the orange shop were doing. So now we are thinking of ditching the hot pot and just getting a load of trays from C05tc0, but I'm wondering how many to get of each thing: -Sandwich (triangle ones) 2-3 per person? -Sushi/Maki 2-3 per person? -Sliders / Mini Burgers 1 of each per person? -Vol au vents / Mini Toad in the Hole / Mini Beef Yorkshires 1 of each per person? -Indian starters like samosas 1 per person? -Couscous - how much?
We will of course be having cake, maybe a cheesecake, maybe pick n mix - we haven't decided yet for dessert. Any recommendations or ideas welcome :)

Id ask for advice off caterers, the only thing I would suggest is over buy. You can always take food home that isnt eaten, nothing worse than under estimating. Also dont buy food that will go off in a warm environment. creams etc. xx

People may go back to a buffet later in the evening so it's always worth over estimating so seconds are available. Does C0stco have anyone you could speak that might be able to advise? If you're buying in bulk you could ask for a deal. X

As this is just a party I would def over cater, as kirsty said, people will pick all night!
I think I woukd def speak to C0stco and see what the recommend- I would imagine samosa and sliders will be popular as they are a bit different from sandwiches!
Their pizza and cakes are highly recommended too :-)

Fab thanks everyone. I think I will just list what we want from their menu and get them to advise.
I would over order. We threw my uncle a surprise birthday party a few years ago and did tonne of food but it was all gone within 2 hours. All the family didn't get a chance to eat anything as were too busy mingling etc. No-one complained and it was nice to see it all eaten but it was a shame that some people missed out.
You always get people who will take loads of everything so cater for those as well.

General guidelines if the buffet is replacing a meal is for 12-15 pieces per head.......................however, as it's a proper party with lots of drinking involved I'd suggest going for 20-25 pieces per head to make sure you're covered.

Is this for your wedding reception? I'd def order more than one of the mini burgers, vol au vents etc as I'd say people would prefer the likes of those than sandwiches etc. I know I would anyway
