Hey everyone,
So i have decided to make my own paper flowers for our big day, i have put photos in my album of the ones i have found for inspiration and some that i have started making myself. What does everyone think? We are wanting to make most things ourselves and do it on the cheap but i dont want to cross the line to tacky. I know everyones taste is different but would just like some opinions please. :)

Is anyone else having paper flowers?

I'm planning on making mine from pages out of books. Pic is in my album.

Just not sure how to make it waterproof. Might just have to laminate each flower before making into shape.

Am putting it on my uncles grave when I have got married as he was my best friend and got me through a real tough time.

I like those flowers katie, are they easy to make? I have wondered about if it rains, which would be a nightmare. But i cant laminate the paper first for the flowers i am making as it would make it too thick and it wouldnt fold i dont think.??

Havn't tried yet but they look quite easy. You dont actually fold them just wrap them round.
I have a list of things to make every month apart from this month and the month of the wedding and my bouquet is listed for june this year at the moment. Once work let me know if my holidays have been accepted I'll swap it around so the more time consuming stuff is when I'm off (or on nights hehe).

they look really good i saw some in one of the wedding mags this week she did them for her wedding and she enjoyed it that much she made it into a business xx

I may have some patience but am not sure if i would have the passion to do it all the time, think because they are for my wedding i have more time for it if that makes sense? still you never know, maybe a career change for me! ha ha, but dont think mine are that good! lol

Sorry Panther, i have only just seen your post! Thank you, i wil go and have a look now :) I have nearly finished my flowers but still have loads more to make :)

I've just put a picture in my albums of a flower I've made. I might make a bunch of them in different sizes and use them instead of being traditional :) x

I love your flower :) and I love teal. I really like how you have put the diamantes in the middle, might put some more on mine :) have finished the handle on mine now with some white ribbon and purple and white beads. Will post a pic when I can get on laptop.

Teal was my old colour lol. I changed it because I was struggling to find anything that colour. I'm getting everything tomorrow to have a go at making the real thing x

White and silver now. We're having a winter theme. So I'm going to get very creative tomorrow and the pictures should be on tomorrow nite. But I've got parents evening 1st. I'll show em how u make something lol. I think teal and purple r gorgeous too xx

Someone put a link to these paper flowers on another thread (think it was Holly on the unusual bouquets one.. cant remember) which I think are amazing! But sods law I'd break it lol.

Wow this is such a brilliant idea! I've just finished making a load of paper sunflowers for my mum's mothers day card! Paper flowers are so unusual, love it :)

They are really nice dolman :)I started off with bigger flower, around the size of yours but personally found them too big. BUt yours looks really good :) well done :)

I really like the felt flowers, think they can look so life like and there is a good choice of colours too. Also like the idea of the pin wheel ones, never seen them before.

Can't really say how long they took me as I did them a bit at a time. The origami ones take the longest as each flower has 5 petals and each petal is made from a different piece of paper, I found it easier to make all the petals first (about 40) then stuck them together and went from there. The tissue paper flowers are really quick and easy to do and take about 5 minutes each. The rose ones are easy too, they are just fiddly when your waiting for the glue to dry.

I could really do with a glue gun! been using all purpose glue and it takes ages to dry!!

It's amazing how some paper flowers can look so real! I wish I could make some too but they'll look really odd with my Lego flowers.
